Hi suk11188,

Those kindergartens you mentioned are all popular choices (particularly 蘇浙) as they have bigger intakes.  Since you still have plenty of time before you decide, my suggestion is really to observe your baby more and also spend some time reading threads related to those kindergartens you may want to consider to hear more from the current parents.

There are really no need to rush now and kindergarten is just part of the children's development.  Take time and find out what kind of kinder is more appropriate for him!

Hi babyakambm,

Unfortunately this is each private school's own decision and can vary year from year.  The best way is to check with the schools you are interested directly.

Which schools are you considering?

Actually I live in Net 41 district. Of course I want my boy to go to La Salle, but I only have 15 points, which is not a great chance at all. For private sch I would like to try Alliance. Dont know  other good Boy / Co-ed sch in Kln area, any suggestion?

I guess there are quite many choices for private/ DSS primary schools in Kowloon: DBS, Ying Wa, CKY, TSL, SFA......

I would say not to worry too much as long as you are in a Cantonese speaking family and there is a good balance of the parents talking to them in Cantonese, should be okay.  We have some children cannot really talk in Cantonese very well during interviews at SHCK but can still be accepted (a few, not a lot) as long as they can understand the teachers' questions.  But I think other kindergartens you mentioned would probably prefer the children has better communication skills in Cantonese too.

There are certainly children studied in Victoria's pre-nursery then go to these schools.   The truth is there are not many choices when it comes to pre-nursery in HK island, isn't it?  Of course if you have other options, then may be I will say it is better to consider them too.

多謝Ian回答，我囡囡比較喜歡講英文，而且識既英文vocab多過中文N倍，講中文時又好似鬼妹講中文，我怕d kinders會扣分

Hi iantsang,

This is not the 1st time I ask the same question and think I am not the only one who is still struggling under the same case.  Hope I can get some comment from you.

My daughter is studying K1 at SC, I am very happy with this school, no matter I heard from bad comment of this kinder.  In last year, I 湊熱鬧 to apply K2 of GH and my daughter is accepted.  Be honest, DGJS is still my final target, I know it's very difficult, that's why I would prepare the best in each step in order to reach this goal.  Of course, I also had applied for CCKG but rejected.  So, staying in SC seems the 2nd best way to the goal.  

However, studying in GH kinder is very safe to it's P1.  Even though stay with SC, I'll still apply GH primary for my daughter.  In the case of fail in DGJS and central allocation, GH accepts my daugther, I have no doubt to go for GH primary.

Can you share your thoughts in this case please?
