Yes, their teachers encourage them to bring some fruits for teabreak.

We used to bring one small pcs of bread plus some fruits.  Sometimes, we even bring a small pcs of boil corn or one boil egg plus any kind of fruits.

It is not a must but u know a working mama is no time to prepare so much type of snack fr their child.  Try to do it as it is good for health.  Anyway, no candy no fries fr their tea time in school.
