Hi Tobylaucc
To make such a critical decision for our kids, we cannot rely on the so-called “中學排名”. Their reliability is not proven. We can look at the official documents (as WENSI suggested). Those documents are prepared for EDB, so they are much more dependable.
WFN is a good school with proven academic track record. Holy Family is EMI. For True Light, not sure you are referring to True
Light
Middle School or True Light Girls’ College. Girls’ College is EMI, while Middle School is CMI. If your girl can manage English well, there isn’t any reason to restrict her exposure to Chinese. WFN has the best word of mouth amongst these 3 EMI schools.
So, try to ask yourself with great deliberation:
1) how is your daughter’s English capability?
2) is the 2-year in Shatin a concern to you? (FYI, the temporary location is right next to Tai Wai KCR)
Lastly, there is another consideration you may want to take into account:
-- Owing to the relocation, some top band 1 students might not choose WFN as their 1st choice this year. Will it affect the quality of the F1 students? Will this be a key concern of you, even though the school’s teaching and academic track records are proven?
With all these, if I were you, I’ll still pick WFN. It's because I believe the teaching methods and learning atmosphere won’t be affected by the relocation. Please note that I have no relation with WFN. My kid is lucky enough to be admitted in his chosen school during the 1st round discretionary. But I did consider WFN as one of his choices for the lucky draw.
Good luck to you and your girl. |
