k1小朋友想學phonics, 邊間好呢?  有冇人可以推介?

Speedbox, I heard KCS will teach phonics starting from K1.  I decide to wait, if the quality is good......no need to learn outside again.  But if you are interested, my friend's girl has just enrolled KinderU to learn Phonix. Course not yet started, so, I am not sure if it is good or not.....

我都想比3歲囝囝學phonics,
kinderu用嘅letterland phonics好多教育中心都有,
價錢由$160至接近$300/1堂(1hr),
early stage要上30-45堂, 另加教材費用。
唔同教育中心價錢分別好大, 我都唔知邊間質素好,
又有朋友話上綜合英語課程比phonics好,
因為多元化d, 而且都會教埋phonics,
所以我仲考慮緊﹗

My boy is 2yrs9mths old and is now studying letterland phonics.  At first, I just wanted to send him to a summer class so that he has something to do in the summer. I don't expect him to learn something as he is still too young.  But surprisingly, he just attended the class for 8 times, he has already known how to pronounce "a-j".  

Though the class does not require us to buy any books or CDs, we decide to buy a set from the bookshop for home schooling after he finished all his classes.

Sorb,

I noticed from the book list, K1 only has jolly song book but not phonic book.  I wonder whether we will have phonics in K1

I haven't bought the books yet.  I learnt this from another BK mother whose child is a KCS K2 student and partly confirmed by the old books left in my in-law's home by my niece who studied in KCS K1 3 years ago (I am not sure if the phonics teaching will start from the 1st term of K1 or 2nd term).  Thus, I will see if I need to supplement by outside english centre's after school starts.  To me, it is better for the children to know some English words before they learn phonics.

Dear all,

Sorry for my late reply.  

I just registered a class from a small learning centre near my home.  If your home is close to Tsuen Wan, let me know.  I don't want to publicise the name of the learning centre as I don't want to give other the impression that I am advertising.  

Just want to share with others.  We bought the alphabet song CD from a bookshop.  My boy loves it so much that he asks for playing the CD all the times.  Each time when we play the CD, he tried his best to sing along with the CD.  Though he was not able to sing all the songs from a to j, he still can speak out the letter sounds.  He even told us that the sounds of "c" and "k" are very similar.    We are so glad that he really has learnt something from the class.

My son started learning phonics at home 6 months ago when he was 2 years 2 months old.  We can't take him out for classes so we rely on home education.

We use GC's Phonics Kingdom and it is half-way finished.   Now he can read simple story book.
