I incline to say that 2 hours of VCD for a 2-year-old kid is too much,even if you break it into 4 or 8 timeslots and spread them throughout the day. TV programs or materialsvia VCD or DVD carry a great amount of multi-media attractions and toomuch of it will affect the concentration span of small kids (in yourcase a toddler) in respect of written work.
I would suggest that you may need to observe from time to time whether your kid still loves reading, and whether he/she can progressively read from content rich with pictures to one with more words.
