Combine some questions:
1. It is a co-ed school. Boys and Girls can apply.
2. Since its secondary school has converted into DDS school just in 08, I don't know yet how it works later but the school principal said they wanted to accept all primary students if they can pass their major subjects.
3. The required Mandarin and English in class for diffferent subjects. Cantonese is not necessary but you know, most students speak Cantonese as their mother tougne.
4. Well, I can't feel Chinese is very demanding, but English needs a bit effort for local Chinese speaking family. But they seemed to be very happy about their school life. They have to pass all Chinese, English and Maths in order to get promoted to next grade. I don't know if foreign student also apply this rule.
5. Competition among classmates is not encouraged, parent even do not know your kid's class ranking if you don't ask the class teacher.
6. Interview format is quite simple. First of all, free drawings in waiting room with some NETs and they tried to talk with them when parents were around. Some teachers said it is not assessing them by then, just warming up. Then students only went into another classroom in group for a video. Teachers then asked questions accordingly and observed their behaviour and selected candidates. School principals were usually not involved but they were walking around to answer parents' enquiry. There was no second round interview.
Teacher may try to know their language ability but some teacher said kids are not supposed to speak Mandarin and English but they will pick up very quickly.

Thanks for sharing. Would you mind talking a little bit more on how the interview is conducted? So there'll be a few parts each testing the candidate's 中,英,普通話? Thanks.
Becky
