When to start piano / music lessons?

我仔仔無上過柏斯, 只是從朋友口中得知情形.  有朋友認為2.5歲上little mozart可能會太heavy, 3歲(已讀k1)可能比較好!

柏斯職員話mozart分2班,
2歲半-3歲係bb班, 3歲-3歲半上另一班。
妳朋友意思係bb班都應該足3歲先上會好d?
我個仔係活躍型, 我怕佢坐唔定學唔到野咋,
一報就15堂, 如果佢真係坐唔定都唔知點算...

琳琳2歲半開始上柏斯music class, 勁like. 現在已懂部份音符及拍子.  成日singing a song tim.

阿仔而家在學校上的音樂課 (放學後自費) 都有教 唱歌, 律動, 基本樂理, 高大宜手號, 樂器認識, 敲擊樂訓練等, 老師曾是葉氏的導師, 相信內容會類似葉氏的.  唔知會唔會同 柏斯的bb班內容相同, 可否分享一下 柏斯bb班 (2.5歲) 學d咩 ?  thx !

你講的形式反而接近香兒啟蒙班, 也似葉氏的幼兒班(正確名稱不清楚, 但與一些家長講的相似).

有朋友建議在柏斯上3歲的課程, 不會嚇怕幼兒.  因為也認識一些朋友的子女上完小小莫札特之後"勁唔like", 後來在通利jmc才重拾音樂興趣.  所以也視乎你的小孩屬哪一類型及你認為你與小孩何時開始習琴!  不錯我指"你與小孩", 因為這的確是兩個人的事, 幼兒習琴初期最好可以有大人陪學.

Is your daughter gentle, quiet and stable type?
My son is very active, not be able to sit for long time, I'm worry the course not suits him at this stage ah...but I really want him to learn music and hope music could make him more gentle and calm.

明白多一點了, 真的感謝分享.

我自己不懂琴, 對音樂是喜好的 (學校時期合唱團的), 阿仔都自小聽古典音樂的時侯都有很大的律動, 也喜歡唱下歌, 每見鋼琴都要去掂. 我覺得他和一般小朋友一樣都喜歡音樂.      不過他是異常活躍的, 我有教他繪畫等令他集中一些, 現人又大了點, 好了一些, 但如果要他跟大隊做一件事, 如果此事不是他覺得很有趣時, 會好困難.  所以選 course 幾難配合.

我不求他考咩級個d, 希望學音樂/琴可以幫到他集中, 及長大後更享受音樂說可以了. 我亦想過如果他之後真得不肯學樂器, 亦可以去唱下合唱團, 總之多一些接觸音樂吧.

Anyone know the difference between New version and Old version Mozarts?

Parsons staff said 2 courses are similar.
If really similar, I'll choose old version for sure as it's 15mins longer each lesson and even cheaper.

Old version (only one course for 2.5-3.5yrs old)
1hr/lesson, 18 lesson a term $2880

New version
(one course for 2.5-3yrs, one course for 3-3.5yrs)
45mins/lesson, 15 lesson a term $2550

Already applied "Old version" Mozarts for my son and it will be commenced in Feb.  After finish the course (2 terms), studuent can promote to piano class.

For everybody Information:
Parsons won't offer old version mozarts from now on, the one I applied for my son is the last one in Po Lam branch, and I also ask TKO Centre and Laguana City Branch, they only offer New version mozarts.

New Version
Part I ~ 2.5-3yrs old
45mins/lesson, 2 terms (15 lessons each term)
Part II ~ 3-3.5yrs old
1hr/lesson, 2 terms (18 lessons each term)

Old Version ~ 2.5-3.5yrs old
1hr/lesson, 2 terms (18 lessons each term)

Would you be able to share more about the group piano class at Parsons?  

1) How big is the group?  
2) How does it different from one-on-one?
3) Do they teach score reading?

The teacher is the same one who taught him in Little Mozart before.

do u think little mozart really helps your son learns paino?

I just enroll little mozart for my 2.5 yrs old son, my husband challenge me...really need to enroll such course? Or simply send him to learn piano when he is 3.5 or 4yr old?

From my point of view, music might make my son become gentle and patient, also have better foundation for learining piano.

do u think little mozart really helps your son learns paino? I would say so because the course focuses more on theory which prepared my son with the basic when he started taking piano lesson. I learnt from the mothers of my son's classmates that JMC has more singing/dancing.

I just enroll little mozart for my 2.5 yrs old son, my husband challenge me...really need to enroll such course? Or simply send him to learn piano when he is 3.5 or 4yr old?

From my point of view, music might make my son become gentle and patient, also have better foundation for learining piano. My original intention was similar to yours as my son is very active (it wasn't easy to keep him sit still in class) and I would like to train him to be more patient and concentrated. More importantly, the course provided me an opportunity to assess how much he enjoys music and his ability in learning piano before letting me to take formal lesson. Afterall, this is just my personal experience.

因為我家附近無柏斯, 所以無問到呢間. 你搵到之前教你仔個little mozart老師教單對單又幾好wor, 你係咪自己問老師定都係經柏斯?
因為我仔以前都上過little mozart, 但上完之後, 問職員可唔可以搵返之前個老師繼續教音樂班, 個職員話個老師走左

It was kind of a coincidence that my son is taking piano lesson from that teacher.

My friend told me she knows a teacher but she is living not too close from my place. As I am not too sure when my son will continue to learn after some time, so I decided to take lesson in Parson first and switch later should he become committed in learning piano.

In fact, the staff told me that the schedule of that teacher is quite full. While the staff was checking the schdule of other teachers, I saw that teacher in the shop and she said she has few time slots available. Since she knows my son's personality, I think it's a good idea to let her teach my son.

my daughter is 2yrs & 4mths now...i have applied Tom Lee's Music Wonderland (which starts from 3 yrs & 2mths) for her and in waiting list now....i would like to know the different between Tom Lee's MW & Parsons's Little Mozart.....which one is better for her as a foundation for learning piano?...just wonder if i let her to play in Parsons first and see whether she enjoys or not?? Thanks in advance!!! ^ ^
