唔該哂呀! 我只睇到日期唔見時間添
請問會有咩特別節目嗎? 定係只開放校園比我地參觀? 因為我同仔仔都未試過行下TSL, 但當日佢又要開生日會, 好撞時間 但希望盡量抽到時間去一去, 增加下佢對呢間學校既歸屬感:)

Last year, the Open Day was just like a fun fair.
However, the programs/format of the Open Day might change slightly every year.
Not sure about the details for this year.

Normally, the visitors can visit the school hall, various classrooms and function rooms.
You can choose either to follow the school tour guides at regular intervals or feel free to go anywhere on your own.

There should be some game booths on the playgrounds, some other simple games run by the pupils and relevant teachers in different function rooms, some rooms will display pupils’ projects and assignment in various subjects.
You can also visit the Campus TV studio and be interviewed by the reporters and the photos and videos will be posted on the school website some time later.

If you have decided to let your child study in TSL in the coming September, it should be a very good chance for you to bring your child to the Open Day for a few hours to let him have a feel about the school, the teachers and the schoolmates in advance.

小兒生日會開到3點左右, 不過要先返一返屋企放低野再趕出黎...希望唔會太夜啦!
我都決定左比小朋友9月係TSL讀架啦, 所以我地兩個都要了解多D, 知多D, 希望佢升上去適應得好D。

TSL是保良局的英文直資小學， 要交學費， 去年好像是約1200/月， 用普通話教中文科， 英文同普通話都有教拼音。 所以口語比較好同標準。 一般校內BAND 3可以搏入BAND 2中學。 BAND 2 搏入 BAND 1。 BAND 1 就搏BAND 1 頭中學。 去年的升中報告出咗， 75位入BAND 1 SCHOOLS，  70位入直資， 占總人數大約87%， 而且開始沒這么分散了。 所以該校的BAND 3出路都不是太差。 而且又有法文同日文學， 活動都好多，很重視音樂， 是少有進步快的英文小學。

TSL 大約有20%是非華裔學生， 主要是南亞裔， 因前身是伊斯蘭小學， 當時收好多非華裔學生。 自從PLK接手後， 仍然保留一定學位給非華裔學生。

以英語授課， 如果不懂華語的學生， 可以選擇法文為第二語言。 懂華語的可以選擇中文為第二語言。

除中英法文外， 還可以選讀日文。 從小學開始多學一種外語， 有百利無一害。

有一位外籍老師教PHONICS。 校內英語氣氛良好。 無論會不會中文的學生， 都適合入讀。

不過照近年收生情況， 入表好像越來越多。 因而競爭也相對大了。 收生一般以學生的成績， 面試表現和課外活動， 如懂樂器更佳。

小兒亦會於09年入讀TSL。除咗功課量外，我都想再瞭解多d呢間學校，請各家長幫忙,謝謝!

1. 教學方法係全活動教學定係集活動及傳統教學於一身
集兩樣。

2. 老師對學生係咪好有耐心同愛心
多數係。

3. 學術成績同近年升中成績怎樣, 係咪真係得30%入Band 1 中學?
過往是約1/3，1/3，1/3， 這是派位的比例。 不過實際入BAND 1中學（好多BAND 1學生入讀的我叫它做BAND 1中學）和直資人數遠超這比例， 這應該是學生憑自行面試入學率較高。 他們每年都有升中報告公布， 往年比較散， 今年沒那么散了， 現在還可以從他們網頁看到這個最近期的報告。

4. 喺TSL嘅語言能力(聽同講)係好好, 但傳聞寫就比較弱 (6年級=傳統學校嘅4年級),  所以將來考私校同直資嘅中學可能就比較蝕底。呢個係咪事實呢?
唔覺得， 小一開始要寫ENGLISH JOURNAL。 中文好像也有類似的功課。 看他們入直資的比例就知道沒有蝕底。

5. 有冇聽過不久將來會有一條龍中學呢?
從2003年開始要求政府撥地開一條龍中學， 可惜沒有成功， 反而同期申請的陸慶濤小學聯系了羅氏基金中學。 以后不知道， 暫時沒有消息。

6. 學校會唔會有遊學團架?
今年的P.6有了。 不過不便宜， 好像基本要25，000+++。

With regard to "遊學團", where is the destination if they pay HK$25,000 ++??
When will the "遊學團" be held?   Easter or summer holiday?
Also, who is the organizer (i.e. which travel agent)?

Just heard that there are also "遊學團" for P.4

It seems that  "遊學團" is something new for TSL.

Dear all,

遊學團確實費用不需$18,000, 另加tax都不會過$20,000.  今年是首年辦這活動, 共11天, 去的地方包括英國及法國, 由4-5位老師同行, 應該會很安全, 因他們都是懂法語的老師, 而且於英國入住的是School Hostel, 在法國會住3 star hotel, 有數天的早上上英文課, 其他會是交流及參觀, 但好像也要面試成功才能參加, 此團是給P4-P6的學生去的, 不是只有六年級生才可以去. 好像和翠明假期合辦的, 不太記得, 要回家看看通告後再告訴給你們知.

"遊學團" P4 to P6, 只係 HK$17,000到 (不包機場稅), 暑假去英國同法國, 11日. organizer是翠明假期. 對家長來說, 無論是否參加, 都算是驚喜!

關於寫英文journal, 我都想提下, 由剛入學時, 仔仔只是一句起兩句止, 而家可以寫好多, 而且完全不用問我地spelling, 看完他做好的journal, 我都好感意外,  不知是否學校有教phonic, 他的spelling進步得好快.

而中文的"童言"相同, 他很喜歡又畫又寫的感覺, 而且中文老師好懂鼓勵小朋友, 次次派發, 仔仔好雀躍想看老師對他文章的回應.

You must have been too busy at work recently and missed some notices on this one.

Though nothing new in some schools (eg SPCC, CKY), it is quite new for TSL.

Would consider it a very good experience for kids.  But if you have time in summer hols and plan to travel with your kid(s), perhaps no need to go on this trip.

The co-organizer is better than some agencies and experienced.

Personally I have every confidence in TSL teachers and their ability to lead such groups.

But becos of personal reasons, we have decided not to join.

The teachers and kids are quite engrossed in preparations for Open Day already !

Haven't donated anything, but sure hope I can buy some things at the Bazaar !
