聽說跌了很多，連一般區內英中也好過它?

Not only SPC, but also King's College.  People said that their overall HKCE results are deteriorating.

But I don't worry too much about it, I trust that SPC is good enough to train their students up to meet the demands of the society.

I've also heard that primary boy's schools are good but their secondary schools are not, (e.g in net 11).  I wonder if it is related to the drive of students.  In primary school, if the drive is from parent and the student could not find the real interest in studying, then in secondary school, when the boys reach the rebellious age and the parents could not push them anymore, the academic result would drop a lot.  This is one of the big question that puzzled me and I still wonder what type of school is suitable for my 2 boys.

小兒是聖保羅書院高中生,就我所知學校不會鼓勵同學會考報考超過八科,只有極小部份同學會因應自己的需要加報科目,所以9或10A的確少見,聽講最近有7A.
以我所知及所見,由聖保羅書院小學升中一至今,不少學生都已出國留學,而且多數是英國不錯的學校,當然也有美國及澳洲等.這絕對是升學上的策略及學生的家庭背景關係,與學校質素無關.相反學校還不時提供講座,協助及鼓勵合適的同學出國,令我意外的是這些學生往往是品學出眾的.就好像最近學校邀請兩位舊生回校出席升學講座,一位現就讀劍橋大學,另一位現就讀牛津大學,他們與學弟分享的不是在香港會考有多少個A,而是他們在高中時放棄香港會考,選擇到英國考GCSE,當然他們的成績是非常優秀.中間牽涉的策略不在此詳述,想說的是欣賞學校以學生為本,對學生的成就有遠見.學校歷年來出了不少政及商界的要人,但他們多較低調,可能是校風關係吧.另外,我知到香港大學醫學系向來有不少是聖保羅書院畢業生,走進瑪麗醫院亦不難找到在聖保羅書院畢業的醫生.
我和一般聖保羅家長一樣比較低調,但看到外面對學校的看法實在想表達一點意見.學生懂得批判及對社會承擔,對學校感自豪但謙虛,極強的英文基礎有助環球發展,懂得自己學習,在充滿空間及機會的環境中成長.看著兒子在聖保羅書院的成長,對我來說它就是最好的中學.

請問聖保羅書院校風如何?

聖保羅書院不論中小學都擁有優良校風.
以我的所見所聞都是一般青少年的"小頑皮",最重要是問題發生後校方都會即時主動處理,我個人認為學校在這方面的技巧成熟和有效.而所知的效頑皮學生部份都已轉校.
不過個人覺得應該給年青人機會,今天看似大錯,其實又只不過是人生其中的一件錯事,是污點或是轉捩點,就看成年人的處理方法.
至於聖保羅書院有名氣的畢業生實在不少,不能在這盡錄.要說的是學校會請一些在各行各業有成就的畢業生回校演說和分享,他們的名字你可能從未聽過,但他們在行業,社會及個人成就同樣非常出色.感覺比那些名畢業生更真實.
所以回到現實是傳統名校好,地區10A英中好....教導孩子投入學校生活,協助他善用學校資源,家長與學校和其他家長保持溝通,在中學階段家長要學會放手,讓孩子自學,信任老師和學校,孩子看到你的正面態度,尊重他的生活圈子,才可以快樂地學習,明白學習是終生的,學習不只限於學科,良好學習態度孩子一生受惠.多少A,能否拔尖就當學習過程中的"花紅"吧.

多謝你的分享，非常期待小兒明年开始在SPC的中學生活。

In this year's Wayfarer, 校刋, it reported how many students can secure a place in local insitutions.  The numbers are consistent with 20 to HKU, 17 to HKCU and 7 to HKUST.   Last year, they were 21 to HKU, 14 to HKCU and 7 to HKUST.

It is the SPC's style in their academic results reporting and up to this moment, the Principal would like to spend more pages to describe their students' achievements in other areas, such as they are the champion of HKJSSE.  May be, it is a footnote of the school's enthusiasm in the so-called whole person development, which I am fine with.

JC6 parents are invited to a visit to the SPC together with a sharing session with some SPC's parents in the evening on 12 Dec.  Hope to find out more about the school there and what those parents are thinking of the school.

跌~可能已經唔係近年既事？因為我之前聽朋友講佢有兩個男性朋友十年前讀paul boy既會考成績只有單位數，我朋友仲話唔單止佢呢兩個朋友係咁既成績，而係佢地個班既同學都只係得單位數。

drop is the standard of the students, not the school.  Single digit of HKCEE is not only happened in last 10 years, It happens almost every year.  Many old boy who has bad score should know why they had such a bad result in before.

And be frank, the single digit HKCEE result also happened in other famous school, not only SPC, right.  So what makes the University result so bad this year?  

I also have no clue.  if the number drop so sharp, it must be some common issue, first year of DSS may be an issue.  whoelse can share.
