I will send my bb to HMT Victoria's playgroup when he is one year old (now he is 10 months old)...
I have sent the application form on Mar 26, 08 and they told me that I still need to wait for 6 months (until Dec 08)

I had applied for Victoria's playgroup in Mar, 08 too.  But they never replied me.  I think I'm too late, my son is already 14 mth.  So, my son join the playgroup at Funful last week.  I don't know whether Funful is good or not, at least there is vacancy there.   I 'm still looking for info of other playgroups.

My twins are now playing at HMT Victoria and they like it very much.  every Sat morning, they dance happily in the class.  I submitted the form when they were 6 months old and finally got the acceptance 7 mths later (13 months old).  Now they are 20m la!  

besides, I also let them go to YMCA which is not necessary to queue up so so long queue, but still a very good class there..  You may want to check their website!

請問funful 的playgroup是否英語授課?每次課程幾長? 老師有愛心嗎?

The playgroup at Funful lasts about 1.5hr:

15min -- Circle time for songs
15min -- Chinese / English playtime (class divided into 2, lead by English / Chinese teacher)
15min -- Tea time
15min -- free time (playing on playground)
15min -- Cinese / English playtime
15min -- Circle time for songs

The English teacher is Indian, but she is quite experienced in handling the child.  My son once shouted and cried when his toy was taken back (to be ready for the next activity), the teacher said loudly " Don't shout!"and my son stopped shouting.  Next time, my son shouted again and the teacher said "Don't be angry."  And my son stopped shouting again.  (My son is the king at home, always shouts and cries to get what he wants.  I think he needs discipline.)

After a week there, my son understands some instructions like tea-time (he goes to the tea room immediately.), toilet (he goes to wash hand).  He learnt a song "aeroplane"?? and whenever my maid sings it, he turns around himself like aeroplane.  Another song I don't know its name, and my son moves his fingers and claps hands when my maid sings the song.

I just feel a bit disappointed is the Chinese teacher cannot attract the attention of the child.  Children move away when she is talking.  And, I don't think my son learns any Chinese from her.  (The aim I sent my son to school so early is to let him have a Cantonese environment.   He  already stayed with my maid all  day long.)

My boy's is a very small class, 3 to 6.  It may because of the time 10:45am - 12:13pm.  I know the 9am class is full.

Class time:	a). Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or Tuesday,  Thursday, and Saturday                 b). Every Saturday or Monday to Friday

Today, my maid said,"Hide".  My boy put his hand behind his back.  And, when my maid said, "Show", he put his hand open before me.  Interesting!

But, he still cannot follow the Cantonese instructions!  (My maid said the Cantonese taught the same thing that day.)

I send my baby to playgroup since he was 15 months old. I took him to the playgroup in the first two months. Then my maid took him to the playgroup alone afterwards because I was pregnant. I think it is OK to let the maid to take the baby to the playgroup as long as they take a safe transportation, like taxi there. If you are worried about the performance of the maid in the playgroup, you can ask the teacher by phone. Actually, many classmates of my baby was accompanied by the maid after the first few lessons.

我初時係比姐姐每日帶bb落樓下玩, 跟住去下又遠d.  見佢都ok, 周圍d人都話個姐姐都好盡責.  我先比佢帶bb去坐成45分鐘車去playgroup.  加上屋企有cam, 佢幾時出門口, 幾時返屋企, 我都知道.

我有同姐姐講, bb返playgroup只是去玩, 唔好心急趕車, 遲到無問題, 如果下雨, 我會叫佢搭的士, 太大雨就唔好去.

Hi,

試堂同學仔? My baby is on the waiting list, hope they can offer a seat for him in Aug(幼潛上到八月).

Even though HMT Victoria Playgroup gave him a weekday class offer, I gave up, becoz it's far from Sham Tseng.

Is Funful near MTR? I plan to let my bun bun brings baby to join the playgroup in there.

九龍塘ywca紹邦幼兒學校 english playgroup is good. My daughter went there for half a year last yr and she liked it v much. the teachers are kind and the fee is cheap.Tel:3443 1678

Funful 唔近MTR架, 我呢度去最近係坐巴士, 但落車後都要行7分鐘先到, 條路無遮無擋, 所以落雨時, 佢地要坐的士.
