我買了大約兩個月(bb三個月大時買).未知是否有效.買的原因:
1, 只是bb由奶奶揍,覺得陪bb時間唔多,故買了整套,希望唔好浪費bb早期教育時間.奶奶亦可同bb玩. 閒時,我們亦好似有d較為有意義的"玩具"同佢玩

2, 沒有太多時間去source/compare 其他教材

3, 我接受其有"系統"的教學方法

當然,我相信要有效應要跟足其方法.不過,說真的,我不是期望bb會是英文奇才,只是希望可以激發佢睇書興趣(one of sales point!).

價錢是貴一點, 唯有在其他方面慳d!

我覺得有關disney的討論己有好多次了, 有些家長好好心機,
但亦有些家長不知懷着什麼心態, 亦有一些sales出現在此, 總之要明白自己為什麼去買(像raynthia) 其實好多家長都好肉赤個價錢, 雖然有好多有錢人, 但我識的有錢人中(包括老細人馬等)都不會買, 而是比個仔女身處於有關環境中, 及周遊列國, 買的好多時都是中產或中下級人馬, 死慳死底得回來的, 所以我都是覺得大家如要買一定要先了解自己想怎樣, 及了解多些各樣教材, 像在bt中都己有數個得家長歡心的了, 我不太清楚, 可例出自己有份去了解的有:

1. disney
2. english time
3. easy to read

各位可以在此加上, 比一些有心的家長,

我想不論買什麼教材,父母也要付出時間與小朋友一同使用才會有好的效果. 如只是小朋友自己用.那教材很快會與玩嫌的玩具一樣放在一旁.

用了一個月左右, 囝囝現在六個月, 由初初看/聽沒有反應, 現在看會間中笑, 聽會靜下來了.
任何教材都不是完美的, 要各方配合才有用. 價錢當然是其中, 相信用同一價錢是可以有其他選擇, 但卻可能要花多點時間去搜查, 可以這樣說, dtw 的"高價"中的部份是換了家長的時間.
家長配合更是不可少, 沒有小孩可以"自學", 家長必須參與, 如果家長本身都沒有興趣, 怎能帶領小朋友呢? 本人與內子都喜歡disney, 所以有信心會同小孩一同學習.
我地都考慮了一年才買, 現在是分期, 每月千多元, 還可以啦.
小孩子的學習機會是一去不返的.

我都買左, 係bb八個月時買的, 我個仔而家都四歲了, 我個人感受係, 比較適合年紀小既小朋友, 我個仔睇住佢先肯坐定定,
但而家大個左就唔係咁想睇, 我都唔知點解?

我個bb依家8個月啦.

我 的觀點：
1. 價錢高於HK$1000一套的教材 都是太貴，一般都不值得購買。
2. 在大陸、台灣、星加坡、以至香港，平宜的教材(<HK$1000)比比皆是。
3.對於教材 的內容有讚無彈的討論，都要倍小心。

why you choose American English, not British English, as HK and mainland China use the latter?

I'm not DWE user, but I only teach American English to my son. I don't think China is using British English.

Read the following, a research done by University of Tampere.

American English acquired international significance after World War II, when the United States assumed a more global role and political, economic and technological developments promoted U.S. influence worldwide. American English is currently the dominant influence on "world English" (cf. British English) largely due to the following:

1. Population: U.S. vs U.K. (SAE/SBE ca 70% vs 17% of all native English)

2.Wealth of the U.S. economy vs. the U.K., & influences

3. Magnitude of higher education in America vs the U.K.

4. Magnitude of the publishing industry in America

5.Magnitude of global mass media and media technology influence

6. Appeal of American popular culture on language and habits

7. International political and economic position of the U.S. (cf. Kennedy)

American and British English are both "variants" of World English, more similar than different, especially with "educated" or "scientific" English. Most divergence is due to differences in national history and national cultural development, varying regional and local idioms and colloquialisms, and influences of media and advertising.

I did not buy it but some of my friends did. I did not see any significant change in English language ability among their kids. What they can do can be done by any child exposed to other cheaper English videos, tapes or books. Frankly speaking, the contents are quite boring. My kids lost interest after watching it for a few times. (I borrowed it from my friends.)
