學生質素及表現

- students are attentive, responsive and have good
  interaction with the teachers
- most of students are motivated, demonstrated
  confidence and highly participatory in learning
- can communicate effectively with their teachers and
  peers in both spoken English and Chinese
- follow closely teachers’ instructions in class and are
  serious in accomplishing assignments
- enjoy reading and shown confidence in presentation

  subjects
- students’ analytical skills are noted in their Science
  and mathematics
- students are pleasant, friendly and polite
- have high sense of enjoyment in participating in
  learning and ECA in school

校舍及資源管理

- the school premises are clean and tidy, with space
  effectively used for supporting learning activities
- all teaching rooms are well equipped with computer
  and video projector for class teaching
- school intranet is used for keeping resources for   
  subjects
- libraries, classroom and other facilities are well
  utilized by students during recess
- the library resources have been enriched and updated
  annually to promote students’ interest in reading

個人差異及發展

- to cater for learning diversity, small class teaching has
  been adopted to allow for more care of individual
  students
- after-school gifted programs and individual education
  programs to further develop students’ talents
- accelerated classes of English, Mathematics, Science
  & Music in secondary section allow more able
  students’ learning at a faster pace
- learning support groups to help the needy students
- special arrangements for assessments to help students
  with special education needs
- there is a good variety of strategies to develop
  students at the upper end
- there are 1 clinical psychologist and 1 social worker
- the characteristics of gifted education in the school
  are made known and fully recognized by different  
  stakeholders

愉快學習

- the school has a goal of “ Joy of Learning “
- satisfactory progress is reflected in the building up of
  a joyful school atmosphere marked by harmonious
  peer and teacher-student relationships
- has formulated explicit assignment and assessment
  policies which lay emphasis on light homework and
  reducing examination pressure
- measures are in place for checking and revising the
  test and examination papers to ensure appropriate
  length, coverage and level of difficulty
- some subjects in P1 conduct assessment through
  games to foster a joyful learning atmosphere
- subject panels have the autonomy and flexibility to
  devise their subject-based homework strategies to

品德及公民教育

- moral lessons, adolescent growth lessons, morning
  assemblies, activities such as ‘ Chinese Culture week’
  and community services are rightly in place to foster
  students’ positive vales and attitude
- elements of MCE are also briefly included in the
  teaching plans of most subjects
- students’ behaviour is positively cultivated through
  various award scheme
- class discipline competition and student participation
  in updating school rules have been properly
  implemented and students’ behaviour progressively
  improved
- has developed a suitable school-based student support
  network which include development, preventive and
  remedial programs
- a clear referral system is in place so that students’
  misbehaviour can be promptly handled
- the school has made good effort to provide personal
  counseling services to students
- "Mentorship” and “Non-mentorship” programs have
  been devised to cater for the adolescent growth of  
  secondary students
- there is also personal sharing by the Principle and
  teachers in both morning and weekly assemblies

家校溝通及合作

- the school highly values home-school cooperation
- the school is able to provide the parents with a whole
  picture of the students’ attainment with a system of
  recording and reporting students’ performance in both
  academic and non-academic areas
- weekly report for primary students through the student
  handbook creates close home-school connection
- the student profile informs parents of the personal
  conduct and attitude of their children
- performance reports of talent classes are distributed
  for parents’ reference
- school rules are clearly understood and accepted by  
  both students and parents
- parents are regularly informed of their children’s
  progress and school events through various channels
  including students’ handbook, attending morning
  assemblies and annual parents night
- parents highly appreciate the schools’ open attitude to
  their views and suggestion and its prompt responses
- they show strong confidence in school and have a
  better understanding towards children’s learning as
  opportunities are provided for them to observe lessons
- the Parent-teacher association (PTA) functions
  effectively as a bridge between parents and the school
- It also takes active role in organizing activities with
  high parents’ participation
- there is also a strong team of parent volunteers to
  render support to school
- the scouts organization is run independently by a

不足及改善建議

- better utilization of the school intranet should be
  made in sharing information among various
  committees & groups
- the filing system could be further improved to allow
  easy updating & retrieval of information
- stronger collaboration among subject
  departments/groups is encouraged
- might need to extend the opening hours of the library
- consider for more display of learning materials &
  students’ work around the school premises
- consider to put a wider range of themes to broaden
  students’ horizon & to allow them to think from
  different perspectives
- a need to draw up a more structured MCE curriculum
- a couple of lessons are found to be less effective
- students’ independent learning strategies have to be
  strengthened
- post examination evaluation at subject level could be
  more comprehensive
- training of counseling skills for the mentors is not
  adequate
- the career guidance programs are not organized in a
  well-paced manner
- the school does not provide an organized structure of
  leadership training to extend the good foundation of
  primary student leaders vertically to the secondary  
  school
- students’ self-discipline needs to be further
  strengthened, in particular for the recess period in the
  primary section

好似今年是沒有校車由沙田到旺角校舍.  未知是否很容易找到褓母車到旺角校舍呢?

我個囝囝是細仔(年尾出世),是否他的成績要是數一數二,否則都好難入到優才?因為聽說一般較受家長歡迎的小學,都只會收大仔大女,又或者這裏有沒有是細仔細女的,而考進優才呢?

以我所知, 優才唔會只收大仔大女; 我既细仔係十月尾出生, 都有幸被取錄。

當然, 優才收生比率约 11:1, 大仔/細仔都唔易入既。

多謝回覆.  但係我都是希望有車直到校門.  如果沒有校車, 真是有些難度. 如有人知任何褓母車行此線, 請通知. 謝謝

我個女都是十月底的細女,現在是09的G1

Hi parents,

My elder son is accepted for 09 P1. Now my headache is my younger son who is now in K2. He's born in October and he's not mature as his brother. I wonder if GT would give priority to those who have siblings studying in the school.

siblings 會有加分, 但唔係保証收。

以我所知, 優小收生評分有三部份: 學生面試、家長面試及特殊分數; 錄取與否, 就係睇呢三部份既总分。

以我推斷, 既然你大仔被取錄, 咁你响家長面試既分數都應該唔錯, 加上當你大仔入讀優才後, 你對學校既認識會加深, 照計你為細仔再做家長面試, 分數會比大仔個時更高; 咁加埋siblings特殊加數, 只要你細仔既學生面試分唔係太差, 入讀既机會都幾高既。

我有兩個仔讀緊優小, 亦認識好多同樣有兩個, 甚至三個兄弟姊妹一齊讀優才既; 當然弟弟/妹妹入唔倒既都有, 但唔係咁多。

Hi fumiko, my daughter will be G1 student in coming year (Sep 2009). We live in Ma On Shan and I'm also looking for any school bus serving between Ma On Shan to Mongkok school. May be we can group together and form our own team.
