Sleeping with a reasonable duration is important, but the quality of sleeping is ever more critical.
I do not quite agree the theory of AM and PM, its just kind of a selfish thinking of most parents only.
And there is no prove that children are better for attending AM than PM
In fact, most children sleep deeply between 6 - 9 am, and that makes the difference.
Actually, I personally prefer early childhood should go for PM class until K2 or even K3
