當天於黑板上貼著的通告說是11月5號前會收到通知。
剛於他們的校曆表看見2號是陸運會，3號是學校假期，假如說5號前會收到信，除非陸運會當天有職員留校"選卒"，信件就有可能於4號寄出，否則絕大可能明天就會發信了。

聖類斯校舍稍舊，佢係我既次選，首選係聖保羅書院。

其實我個心係有D偏向聖類斯既，但大部份人都認為聖保羅書院相對比較好咁，所以如果有幸兩間有得揀，應該會揀聖保羅；而且聖保羅既校舍新好多，仲比較近我屋企~

但都係果句，有好消息先算，如果兩間都唔得就要快D學習下點去叩門，再唔係就真係要聽天由命等抽奬嚕。

Because the school doesn't want the parents to wait so long, so some of the teachers have worked very late before the school sports day to finish the selection.

I can assure you it is not a lucky draw, and the selection is based on the performance during the interview.

I just wanna ask whether the 校風of the secondary school is ok. I don't know if it's common if boys in boys' school write on chairs and tables in their adolescence....... (I saw those writings in the secondary section's classroon when I was waiting for my son to finish his interview(u know, I didn't have an opportunity to study in any boys' schools in my life, haha!) Thanks!

I think that is quite common in boys' schools

no need to over-react. I hope none of those are written by me when I was young.

Yes, I am one of the old boy. Of course I am not involved in the selection, and I didn't tell them you put it as your second choice

Actually I think this year is a very difficult year and the P1 competition is getting quite unpredictable. Hope you can have the good news soon from your first choice!

If you really like this school, you can always try after June. It's because some people will get lucky thru the June lucky draw so there will be some vacancies afterward. Although I know some parents may voluntarily give up lucky draw, but this should not be common. All the best!

I think I wouldn't try to compare to other schools as I believe each school is unique.

During my days in school, I never feel we are inferior to any other boys schools when I was studying there back then. And as I have been involving heavily with this school in the past few years, I still feel the core values are still there.

However, the world has changed. In particular, the education system has changed so much that for schools which don't "follow" the rule of the game, they will lose the edge. But whether there is a clear right or wrong, I guess I leave that to each parents to decide for their own selves.

In the past, I remember there are no rejection letters, only give out wait-listed ones. But I am not sure about the arrangement this year.

For any private schools which allow students to register and continue to participate in lucky draw, certain students will get lucky by probability. So, these vacated seats will be filled by students from waiting list.

Basically it is a way to leave the door open for parents to show their sincerity and remain hopeful.

dont be so sad..........my son also got waiting list last year, but several days later already got call from the school as some good parents give up the place immediately after their consideration instead of holding the place till the end........

so be positive......may be u will get call le............^_^

Try not to look at things from the negative side.

It's just like a glass of water that is either be described as "half empty or half full".  The control is in the hands of the parents to help their own kids if they cannot be offered in the first place.  And I am sure for someone who can get a seat thru this channel, they would know even more about the school itself, and learn to appreciate it even more.  Isn't that even better?

The issue nowadays is, many parents really don't have the opportunity to really know about their target school so well to make a suitable choice for their children.  So now, you are given such a chance to find out more and have this second chance to prove if your first impression is indeed correct.  At the end, the choice is in your own hand, stay positive and there is still a long road ahead!

The registration period is from Nov 5 - 9, and the preparation program will begin on Nov. 12. So, take actions now if you really want to be considered from waiting list.

There are some parents who have handed in letters by hand today already. The style of this primary school is they will response very fast (as you have witnessed from the interview arrangement and the quick notification letters), so if there are vacancies after Nov.9, do expect there will be phone calls very soon.

First, congratulation of receiving the offer.

Concerning the preparation course, I would suggest you to ask the school directly. However, it is not just for academic preparation as there are more than just school works to prepare a child for the transition.

There won't be notifications from EDB after Discretionary Places (自行), instead it will be done before lucky draw.

Concerning the school, it totally understand and respects the parents decision to participate in the lucky draw.

May be u can call the school and ask? I think it would be super inconvenient for adults to go to work and kids to go for extra activities if u move to 西營盤......
I m so excited about the 小一導向課程next wk... will yr kid join? I think it's good to see if the kids really love the school, too...

Sorry I don't know the exact school hour but I remember it was quite early.  It should start around 7:30 to 7:40am.

Yes, we have very good relationships among fellow ex-schoolmates.  I think most of us still keep good contacts and meet with each others quite often.  In fact, many of us are still keeping very good friendship.  Also, many old boys will help the school in different perspectives along the way.  I think this is something that we all treasure here.

Concerning promotion to secondary school, it should be considered easier now than in the past.  It is because the number of students in primary section is smaller nowadays due to space limit.  So, competition should be less severe.
