經過聖保羅堂的waiting result ,基本上都無抱太大的期望,但心裡面係好好好想入到間好既學校,我都唔敢開信箱,好驚又失敗多次

There will be waiting list and reject letters. But last year SHCK has a long waiting list so although the principal will hate me to remind the parents but it is better to write to the principal (multiple times if needed) if you are really sincere about entering SHCK.

btw, I wanna ask all the parents who got the good news, do all of you feel your children did perform well in order to be accepted? Please kindly share!

Hi Ian, 我覺得學校係著重小朋友既反應多於答問題既對與錯, 因為呀囡由始至終都唔識答條玩具key係咩黎, 淨係係度傻笑, 其他野就做晒, 佢成功我諗最主要係因為呀囡唔係咁怕醜(佢個日心情靚卦..), 一入課室即刻叫老師早晨(其實入去前我提左佢講..), 跟住老師見佢好似咀gel gel(雖則佢講野唔算好叻), 大家未行到埋位老師已經問晒呀囡叫咩名, 幾歲&同邊個黎, 佢又大大聲咁答, 老師最後同我講覺得呀囡幾活潑, 我答"okay ga 佢.."..

至於我答個part, 我認為答到一pat c...我一開口個老師就不停咁做自己野, 眼尾都唔望下我, 所以佢地應該concern 個小朋友反應同understanding 多D囉...仲有最後離開前推好椅既係我囉, 呀囡咩都唔記得啦, 因為個老師好急咁已經一早起身請我地走...

Agree with you. I always think it is not the "right or wrong" that matter. It is the most important to watch the reactions of the children and how they deal with the situations.

Are you old girl of SHCSPS or SHCS? If you are old girl of SHCS, then definitely no problem to get in SHCS P1.

I graduated from SH Kinder & SHCS. I have 20 marks but do I really have high chance to get P.1 place. My friend is an old girl of 天神小學 (primary school of St. Mary) and her girl could not get a place there although she is accepted by DGS finally.

Hi Elsat,

The problem with Holy Angel is because it is a complete one-dragon with St. Mary's Canossian College so it is way more competitive.

For the case of SHCS, 20 points should be enough to secure a place based on past experience due to the large intakes and also there is SHCSPS for those who prefer am classes.

Please don't feel disappointed for not being accepted for the first round at SHCK. This tells a very important point. This is a kindergarten which is extremely fair as the first round was purely based on interview performance. So the "preferences" are not being considered in the first round. I have known children with even stronger connections/ recommendations but still cannot be accepted the first round. You may still write to the principal and see if can be admitted later.

As others commented, after the release of SPK results, there will be some vacancies. However, this year is a bit different since the SHCK result is released before SPK interview. So, not sure if some parents will give up interviewing for SPK but shouldn't be much I guess.

My daugther was being rejected.
However, she did very very well in the interview.
she answered all the questions very fast & accurately. Athough, the teacher just given very brief description by tell her jump & get the big cup. She know how to jumped like a rabbit to get the right cup & then looked at her and wondering whether she need to jump back or simply walk back. The teacher told her just walk back then okay. The during was less than 3 mins.
I am very disappointed.

我大女係今年聖心k2 am  學生, 有 d 野可以同大家 share 下

1) 我細女係 0711, 今年都有apply, 結果係唔收的, 真係好失望, 女女當日表現都好妹, 祇是初入班房時要ler 出房找家姐, 後來什麼都做到老師要求 , 不過現在未收到信, 唔知會唔會是 waiiting list... 真係好希望誠意打動到學校啦

同時, 我都知有好幾位家長都是有大女讀緊 k2, 細女apply coming 9 月的 k1, 都是唔收 ...

所以, 今年真係好大competition. 同時,  prove 咗一樣野就係有家姐讀, 不是一定收妹妹/細佬.

2) 學校祇提供港島線校車,

我住九龍東的, 大女k1 時, 是在北角上校車, 約 7:50am 上車, 12:45 pm 下車
今年 k2, 是搭街車 (即保姆車) 來回

希望幫到大家.

同時, 07年(妹妹) 出生率已多過05 年, competition 已多了很多 , 家姐現在行的路可否幫一把 , hehe

同埋, 妳要唸多一點, kinder 家姐開路, 小學才是最重要呢. 因為家姐讀的津貼小學,一定會收妹妹. 但係真光小學不是津貼呢..

I am sorry to hear that your young one is not being offered. Unfortunately, the competition is amazingly keen and if preferences are given to those with elder siblings and children of old girls, there is a high chance only these children can be accepted and no one outside can be offered! It is really crazy this year and worry of next year too as I also have a young one!

However, as your elder daughter is already studying there and you should know how this kindergarten is, and know Sister Kwok is a very nice and kind educator. I believe if you are sincere about sending your young one in, should still have chance. But the issue this year really is, too much competition......

Although my young one is not small B, but she behaves like a small B (exact opposite of her elder sister being small B but act like big B). So, I still have 1 year to train her up and I started to get worry now :(

Yes, originally I planned another kindergarten for my young one but as my elder daughter is studying at SHCK already, I do feel it is good for the two of them to go to the same kindergarten.

I guess in my case, the young one actually affected my elder one more and she become more baby bor! Just worry if competition remain that high, whether SHCSPS still have enough places for all the SHCK girls few years later...... more worries....

I am sorry but dunno how many children are placed in waiting list this year.

For them to be contacted, usually are based on the few phases of registration and some people don't show up. The kindergarten normally will call those being offered within a week or two as places are open.

I am very appreciated of your opinion on this topic!
My daughter luckily gets an offer from SH in PM Class, just we live in Sham Tseng, so I have many considerations!
Firstly, many parents said that it is a 1 dragon school , does it means all the students can go to their private primary school ? As my daughter will have 20 points for applying P1 , can she gets into their primary school (AM) easily?

Secondly, can we still apply "大抽獎" or can i hand in my first priority to another primary school(noy SH) if the private primary accepted my daughter?

the last question is do you have any comments of SHCSPS ? I heard a teacher from Cannosian said it is not a good primary as teachers just asked you to finish tones of exercise but wont marking for you!

So.... I am very struggling about that~~~
but i really feel shocked for SHCK accepted my daughter as my daughter just have an offer from LH (Tsing YI)

Can you give any suggestion to me?

我都想分享吓,我大女同細女都係年尾出世,0510同0711. 大女讀緊LK(k2),細女就好幸運啱啱收咗! 我係家庭主婦,全職湊b,唔知係咪有分加!另外佢兩個都係天主教徒,因為爸爸一家都係,所以又加咗分!細妹嗰日表現幾好,k 大致上都做晒!我諗加加埋埋佢都表演ok,所以好好彩收咗,我哋真係真係好開心!另外,我朋友大女兩年前都係waitlist,不過佢寫咗信俾學校顯示佢嘅誠意,最尾都收咗!所以大家唔好放棄,如果真係想讀,show 你嘅誠意俾學校睇!祝大家都入到心儀學校!!!

Hi SCV,

First congratulations for the acceptance!

Concerning primary schools, basically you need to know there are two sections, AM which is private and PM which is gov't aided. The points applied only for the gov't aided section so it is not relevant for admission to AM primary. I do think 20 points should be enough for the gov't aided section if you intend to apply for SHCS.

Basically in the past, SHCK students should be guaranteed for SHCSPS (am). You can always try the first round to any schools based on points. Whether you can enter the lottery, it varies year by year and totally decided by SHCSPS. In the past it was not allowed but I remember last year they made an exception.

Concerning the primary school, are you referring to SHCSPS or SHCS?

Hi BingB,

It's been a while since we last chat. I can see it from their faces it was a very difficult decision for the kindergarten not to accept more kids with elder siblings currently studying in SHCK. However, they do wanna be fair for other kids as well so we need to be considerate to them too. It wasn't easy for them.

I think I will apply few more kindergartens next year just in case. 2008 has 10% higher birth rate comparing to 2007 so we need to be prepared. Is you younger one also born in 2008?

I just worried about that we cant join the Discretionary Places Admission (Points system) or Central Allocation (Geographically) if SHCSPS offered my daughter a place in the future as I want my daughter can go to "co -edu" primary school !
On the other hand, SHCSPS is also a good choice for us !However, time for traveling is a problem !
Hey, would you mind to tell me where do you live in Tsing YI ? As the traveling time from Sham Tseng to SC is nearly 1 hour, I think that it is too hard for the little girl !

SHCSPS 係指聖心小學私立部上午校,即私校,一個月要交$2,200學費.
SHCS 係指聖心小學下午校,即津校,唔駛比錢.

我大女都係SHCK畢業,現讀SHCSPS小一. SHCK真係一間好好,好有愛心的幼稚園,校長/副校長都非常之關心幼兒,樣樣事情都親力親為,很多老師下午班放學後仍要為幼兒做很多工作/開會,晚晚都很夜才收工. 現我女讀小一, 都讀得非常之開心,SHCSPS亦是一間很好的學校,校長及老師也很好. 雖然只是返半日學,但反而更好,因可以有多些時下午休息/做功課/上課外活動.

Frankly, I am disappointed cos she really did very well during the interview - she did all instructions as per the teacher... Maybe as u guy saying performaning well is just a part of the essential criteria.

I also wish her luck this weekend at SPK.

For SMM, I only know it is a pretty good kindergarten and many of their girls will study in St. Paul's Catholic (nearby in Happy Valley). However, didn't study fully on their style.

Congratulations to you and your daughter!

Basically the hair accessories are all in red. We actually start searching for pure red hair accessories for our daughter since we got the offer, it is really not easy to find.

I will assume as your daughter is offered, I trust that she will be suitable since I always believe the interview at SHCK is weighted more on characteristics of the children rather than what they know and what they can do.
