My son took the assessment (for Year 9 entrance) by Academic Asia and the consultant suggested to us a list of schools namely Tonbridge, Charterhouse, Abington, Uppingham, Shrewsbury, Brighton, King's School, etc that she thinks my son can try.
I found that the GCSE and A-Level results of Tonbridge is very impressive, those of Brighton are also very very good, a close No. 2 to Tonbridge. Charterhouse seems having quite a distance to Tonbridge (for 2010 and 2011) and actually slightly lower results than my son's current school in HK.
Can any parent here share your comments on the above schools with me ?
And, if my son wants to get into Tonbridge/Brighton/Charterhouse in Year 12 (sixth form) instead of Year 9, how much harder is it ? how much slimmer is the chance ? What's the 'minimum requirement' of GCSE results to get int these schools in Year 12?
Thanks in advance.
