Dear experienced parents, I wonder if you know the trend of the following?
My daughter needs to choose English Language A or B. Her HL subject choices are physics, chem and math, while SL are Chinese A, econ and English. The issue is her school allows them to choose English A (SL or HL) or English B (HL). According to her school record, English A is difficult to get a 7, at most is 6, but English B can get a 7 usually.

If she targets Ivy League and STEM subject, can she choose English B (HL)? or She choose English A (SL) with a lower mark is more attractive?

I heard some people said US top universities prefer a lower mark of English A, is that true?

If she takes English B, her school required them to take HL, so yes, 4 HLs in total

I've seen cases taking 4 HL for ivy league , sort of showing the students took challenges. They took chi b HL and eng A.

better check with school counsellors who should be in a better position to advise.
