We looked at the percentage of learners in the target age group (for example 18 year olds for A levels) achieving key grades in each qualification in 2019 and also in 2023 – and set standards to ensure a higher percentage of learners achieved those key grades than in 2019 – but not as many as in 2022.

唔可以話係慘，只係回歸現實，以前一向都係咁嘅。只是疫情幾年太過夢幻啫。
疫情年grade inflation 導致入大學爭崩頭，有些學生無奈take gap year. 早點回歸現實是好事。

找agent係一個方法，留意agent只會推介同自己有合作的大學，有家長在另一個post話而家睇定有那些大學仍在clearing收生，而自己又符合條件，有需要就申請

今年唔慘啦，學校照PREDICT高分入到名校，OFFER要求唔高用低分入到咪抵到爛啦
今年學校冇高估成績的學生而冇名校OFFER的學生就慘
同埋出年學生會好慘，一係大學唔信學校的PREDICTED GRADE，一係學校唔敢估咁高PG會唔理想

A-level grades awarded to students in England have shown their biggest drop after results plummeted across the board in line with the government’s policy of enforcing a return to pre-pandemic grading.
Five thousand fewer students in England gained three A* grades than in 2022, while the proportion of top A*-A grades shrank from 35.9% to 26.5% within a year, with 67,000 fewer awarded this year.
Headteachers said they were alarmed to see that in some cases grading was even more stringent than the last set of A-level exams taken before the pandemic, with the proportion of A*-C grades this year lower than those awarded in 2019 because of a sharp increase in the number of lowest grades.
For the first time, more than one in 10 entries in England were awarded an E or U (unclassified), a 10% increase on such grades in 2019. The increase is likely to be the result of more students taking A-levels based on their GCSE results awarded by teacher assessment when exams were cancelled in 2021.
England’s results also showed a large gap in top grades compared with Wales and Northern Ireland, where regulators have taken into account the long-term impact of the pandemic through more generous grading.
Northern Ireland awarded A*-A grades to 37.5% of its A-level entries, while Wales awarded 34% – in stark contrast to the 26.5% in England.
Gillian Keegan, the education secretary, sought to reassure students by telling them their efforts would be forgotten within a few years.
“They won’t ask you anything about your A-level grades in 10 years’ time. They will ask you about other things you have done since then: what you have done in the workplace, what you did at university.

Ucas, the university admissions organisation, said 79% of UK school-leavers qualified for their first choice of undergraduate course starting in autumn – slightly below the 81% who did so last year but higher than the 74% who got their first choice in 2019.
The proportion of A* grades awarded in England was 8.6%, a steep fall on the 14.5% awarded last year and still above the 7.7% awarded in 2019. The proportion of A* and A grades combined were also higher than in 2019, by 0.7 percentage points.
But results at the other end of the scale were below those of 2019, with the proportion of entries awarded an E or U rising from 9.2% in 2019 to 10.1% this year. In 2022 just 6.6% were E and U.
There were also sharp regional disparities. While London and south-east England recorded a greater proportion of top grades compared with 2019, there was a fall in the north-east England, and Yorkshire and Humber regions. There was an 8 percentage point gap between students getting A*-A grades in south-east England and those in the north-east, wider than the 5 percentage point gap in 2019.
Mathematics remained the most popular subject for this year’s students, while economics replaced geography in the top 10 most popular subjects, with more than 39,000 students taking the subject.
English literature went up in popularity, after two years of declining entries, while computing recorded the highest increase with 16% more entries this year.

A level不嬲被咎病grade inflation太濫，分唔到尖子，否則英國收law同medic都唔洗再考LNAT/UMAT etc. 有海外生今年PG 4A*報CU med係連in都冇得in。

網友貼左張圖, A星得返8-9% , 這就是合理少少
但同前幾年比....
以後IB, ALEVEL 都會很難拿高分
所以你見考醫科, OXFORD/CAMBRIDGE 那些, 好多人, 考前報醫科
乞老師俾 4A星, 最後一考, 真打杖個刻, 出事

未covid前，其實已經派A派到得太多（各科平均1/4人A)，所以先整咗A*/9分呢個制度。

基數調整後 A*-A 約12%(26.5% × 45%)

如果攪得掂科中文，其實DSE可能仲啲易, 佢phy Chem bio 都比A level易D，又不像IB咁多野攪，專心鋤書操卷便可，計分又可以best 5/ best 6又加權，而家有啲科包括medic已不計中文科收生。

都係架。 我仔剛好meet到offer當無事算，但係獎學金就應該都無乜。
但還好ust offer都好friendly 要讀書部份中遊遊份子都仲可以，但係各種原因冇hold到ust (我係因為係母校，唔入比deposit 當捐5k)就好頭痕。
班裡邊個個都比pg 跌3至6個grade都係好痴線。
奇事仲有，Bio4張paper亂來的，36分unclassified, 每兩分上一個grade, 即係話47分就a*, 咁攪鬼都可以。

奇事仲有。
高貴的hku offer 2a* plus, 今年meet唔到入中大都有，科大都多（tg睇non jupas channel），所以hku應該都有較多位游返出黎。

今年多咗A level meet唔到conditioned offer, 應該會再收一輪收返低D
我朋友個仔仲驚嚇，佢在英國考french，本身GCSE時都有9分（可能Inflat咗？），在英國boarding school呢科成績都top個浸在native stream，啱啱出咗A level成績得C, 失哂預算，A level千其唔好亂同班鬼仔鬥languages。

AL take French 太傻，呢啲係鬼科，人走去take 同自殺無分別，再者，GCSE 同AL 係兩回事，唔好以為GCSE 高分就AL 都可以。兩個唔同層次的考試。

佢而家知啦
其實人要GCSE language科取9 本身都唔易，另一個朋友話佢學校全級得一個華人考French有9，佢仲要本身在香港時係由幼稚園已經開始學法文的。

香港的大學我不清楚, 但我在reddit見到好多UCAS申請者說自己 missed one grade but still accepted, 大不乏英國的G5名校如Imperial, UCL. 當然有人歡笑有人愁, 唔係個個成功. 那個thread叫"missed one grade but still accepted".

今年題目出得怪，個grade boundary 又高，好多人都比預期差。我見Reddit有人話一條非常相似嘅題目（只係用字有小小唔同），今年個 ms同以往唔同晒，唔知真唔真。

其實我覺得有唔公平，唔同exam board本身標準及難度已經唔同，仲要今年有exam board 冇回到covid前繼續派星，而大學收生不見得對不同exam board 有不同考慮，而都是統一要求。聽聞英國兩間A*工廠，今年繼續大豐收，因為一向識得揀易D嘅exam board，而且今年冇復常，仍跟疫情派星，有錯請指正。

a星唔係想像中咁易
也非想像中咁難
但之前那些太容易
起碼我覺得alevel a星, 應該易過ib 7分, 同埋dse 5星
ib 要7分hl
是因為, 叻平均少少的人先讀ib
選左ib 後, 勁少少 個班先選hl
即係ib hl chem, 同alevel chem 的學生質素
應該是ib hl chem 勁一點, % a星高過ib 7分hl
你alevel唔駛做lab, 唔駛做ia , 唔駛寫tok/ee
嘩, 幾幸福, 見到ib hl chem 個班做到隻狗咁,
我 想笑佢地, 但又唔好意思笑出來 , 自己拿苦來辛

We are delighted by the achievements of our outgoing Upper Sixth boys in their recent A-level examinations.
At A-level, almost a third of boys achieved A*s. Bar the pandemic years, the A*-A and A*-B rate is the highest since 2013. Over two-thirds of grades were either A*s or As.
Two boys achieved five or more A* grades, with eleven boys gaining four or more A*s. Seventeen boys (10.6%) gained three or more A*s and eighty-three boys (51.6%) gained three or more A*-A grades.
These strong A-level results have translated into a positive set of university outcomes. Some highlights from the 2023 university cycle include:
- Harrovians will be taking up places at seven of the world’s top ten universities (QS World University Rankings) including Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard and UChicago;
- Success beyond UK and US with one boy attending ETH in Zürich, ranked 9th globally;
- 32 Harrovians gained places at US universities;
- A record 15 Harrovians will be taking up places at seven of the eight Ivy League schools in the United States of America;
- Nearly a third of boys will take up places at institutions ranked in the world’s top twenty including Princeton, Columbia and Edinburgh;
- One boy will be beginning a Degree Apprenticeship with PWC this autumn.

Tonbridge’s students have put in outstanding performances in this year’s A-levels. In results made public today (Thursday 17 August), 42 per cent of all grades awarded to the Upper Sixth cohort are at the very highest grade of A*.
In total, 79 per cent of all grades awarded are A* or A, while nearly all grades (97 per cent) achieved by Tonbridge students are either A*, A or B.
In addition, 96 boys achieved nothing lower than A*/A grades at A-level, with 29 boys making the ‘clean sweep’ of an A* in all their subjects.

感恩細仔今年AL (CIE) 成績：Biology：A*
Chemistry：A*
Mathematics：A*
PE：A (89) 叫阿仔試下appeal,但佢話唔洗晒錢
基本上報既大學都有unconditional offer
Medicine/Dentistry/Physiotherapy...
但細仔最鍾意應該係Physio, 所以好大機會去USYD讀Physio
(細仔中學：Macau Anglican College)

今年cardiff, oic 成績插得算勁
cardiff 得4個人入港大醫科
女拔, 得7個4a星 , 上年12個 4 a星
要習慣復常
未來戰鬥, 會非常激烈
remark 升grade 的人不多
要remark , 改錯到, 要一個grade, 何其難?

一般edexcel alevel math,further maths最易
wjec science 相對較易
好似cardiff為例, 考wjec alevel maths 時, 叫學生 用edexcel alevel maths參巧書
wjec 少參巧書, 形成學生讀書困難
所以選考試局, 選多參考書那些
oic 數學, edexcel , phy ocr, chem, bio wjec eduqas
cardiff 全部wjec
brighton 選edexcel maths , phy,chem,bio
concord 選edexcel maths, phy aqa , bio aqa, chem ocr
易不易, 重要判斷, 是參巧書, edexcel 最多參巧書, 所以較易讀
我行入`書局, 可以2,3,4,5,6 本參勁書咁掃, edexcel 中最多
