Does anyone know if it affects the chance for getting an offer if we request a delay to submit this form?

Is this the final stage (after the assessment) or before? If before assessment I think it’s fine, at least hand in once you get into the second tier. If after it’s likely that they will wait till you hand in the form to confirm the offer.

Is it high chance to get the offer if can get 2nd tier test? Really quite embarrassing to ask the existing school for the confidential form

Which year group you are applying for? For Y7, my friend said at least 80-90 candidates into 2nd tier, and the Y7 vacancy is approximately 30……it would be the easiest time to get into GSIS, as compared to other grades

Probably 30-40 (depend on leavers) gets offer and 20-30 on waiting list? Yes it should be the easiest time to get into GSIS compared to all other grades.
I knew a few people who have been trying since K1 , Y1 , Y4 etc and finally only got into the school at Y7. At K1 which is another mass intake, it’s not easy for local families to achieve native level English (but at secondary they don’t ask for this), at primary sometimes even if they passed the assessment, still have to wait for leavers for vacancies.

It’s hard to know, I think harder than Y7 but on the other hand, there will be less applicants.

There were about 70 to 80 candidates applying each of Y8 or upper grade, with 6 to 7 vacancies in each grade. Competition was fierce and there were several overseas applicants who took assessment separately

For Y1 2022-2023 (interviewed in early 2022), it was 200+ candidates for 14 spots. More than half of the offers went to children with nationality or sibling priorities.

On the other hand, some siblings/nationalities/ staff’s kids do not pass the assessment so that has already eased out some vacancies for non priority kids. The last few years is easier to pass with zoom interview, in the past when face to face , it’s really harsh and roughly half of the priority kids failed

In our observation in the 2nd tier (Y7) it was about 150 candidates in the 2nd tier. My kid said saw many candidates were sitting in the hall. And we saw many kids and parents were waiting outside.
