Wanna visit some school during that time, is it a good timing as they don’t have holidays that time. First time to book air tickets to London, any suggestions if wanna book by limited budget, with one stop is also fine.

Use goggle flights or Skyscanner to check flight schedules n approximate prices. Then book at airline website.

No need to visit. Don't waste money especially if you have a limited budget

Some schools may have scheduled open / info / coffee mornings during that time. For instance, CLC will have an Open Morning on Friday 20 Jan 2023 and Downe House on Saturday 21 Jan 2023.

The spring term schedule may not be available online yet. You may check with those schools which you would like to visit directly.

Also consider planning land transport to each school ahead. Taking Downe House as an example, if you stay in London, you may travel by train from London Paddington to Newbury and call a local taxi e.g. https://cabco33333.com (Uber not an option) from the station to the school (not in walking distance).

Railcard is a good way to get big discount for train tickets e.g. return ticket from London Paddington to Newbury for £19.0 (34% off from £28.8). Trip.com currently offers 1/3 discount for buying Railcard.

You can ask the school for a taster day and it is mostly free, that is to allow your kid to sit in the school like a student there for a day.
So your kid will be able to see how a normal school day it is. I believe chinese new year period is a great time to come. Hope your trip will be smooth.
