想問問有無家長有呢種經驗可以比我參考下? LS準備升S4, 成績中上, 如果呢個時候轉IS讀IB可以嗎?

我親戚以前一直喺傳統神校讀，直到中五轉 IS 因為想讀 IB, 但其實佢間神校當年係第一年開辦 IB, 佢怕學校無經驗所以穩陣起見先轉 IS。不過轉咗校幾個星期就好唔習慣 IS 上課模式，頂唔順之下又轉返入原本間神校讀 IB。

其實IB比出國A level 難適應，去A level都係填鴨式。
而且好多IS今年要考IGCSE 9-10科，佢點轉，反而local schoolIB今年巳可開始準備IB多一年。

你應該對你的孩子有相當程度的認識。
你想去邊種IS？有IGCSE果種？
or IGCSE - A-Level?
or IGCSE - IBDP?
or MYP - IBDP?

中三由本地轉IB stream 的，咪無 MYP 畢業或 IGCSE？如果大學或某些機構，要IB 前的修業證書，咪無？

正如樓上家長講，LS升中四，去13年制 IS, 即 year 11, 已準備考GCSE, 或MYP最後一年，時間有D麻煩，反而直資会提供一年 pre-ib, 之後才 ib diploma。

如果轉直資，入 pre-IB，係会無證書

cas 係 core 部，如果不符合要求，拿到45分都不會取到 ib diploma, 如想知每科 international assessment 所佔比重，去CKY 網頁 search ib prospectus, 每科資料都有

如果有(I)GCSE，學校會要求學生留班(Y11->Y10)。因為基本上冇可能只用一年時間去準備。仲要適應英文(Eng Lit)。

或者你可以考慮入美式學校，唔需要考 Igcse。今年直入 Grade 10, 跟住Grade 11 開始 IB

ib diploma 是兩年課程，如果直資學校中四開始分流學生去dse and ib, ib 班中四那年簡單就叫 pre-ib, 可能每間叫法也不同

即係用三年讀二年課程。

人哋搏緊命考10科以上IGCSE，他們有時間 pre-IB.

這個也是我的疑問，中四開始分流，那一年課程設計如何？check 咗有叫 bridging programme,有叫 preparatory year

我又去睇咗兩間提供A level 直資，一間中五才分流去A level, 一間中四提供新高中課程 plus "IGCSE top up program", 中五才正式分流

The language is so generic, the school can re-use the same language if they choose to start streaming IB and NSS at S1.

That's MYP then if I am getting this correctly.FYI, there's PYP too so you can start as early as you like.
Unless you want your children to learn calculus in S1, then you are talking abt gifted program.

I am just expressing my distaste against pre-IB years. No need to move forward discussion every time we say something.
