Simply because no ranking table takes into account boarding experience as a factor. Just because a school produces good academic results does not mean it provides a good boarding experience.

Totally agreed. 真係要睇仔女嘅強項、興趣、性格….。我記得留學agent講過，如果只計成績，留學費用可以喺香港請星級補習，成績可以有把握；出國留學得著絶對不是幾多個A/A**!
利申：我沒有葡萄呀！我仔個間都在名單內排名不錯，上述只是仔留學後我個人小小嘅得著

As I said, from a ranking table, one can only really get a picture of the academic results of a leaving cohort. One cannot tell anything at all about a schools' intrinsic "DNA", its boarding experience or its strengths. It is of course ideal if one can find a school that fulfils both but the answer does not in my opinion lie in any ranking tables.

Ranking大部份都係用學術來比較。間間學校都有啲嘢做得好啲有啲嘢做得差啲。
我覺得真係需要同多啲人傾吓或者同心儀間學校已讀緊書嘅家長傾偈至知道真正狀況。

好多嘢表面上寫到好好但係實際做得唔係咁好。
亦都有好多學校ranking唔高但係佢對啲細路仔嘅照顧係好啲，俾多啲鼓勵俾多啲support同埋教得好好。

最top嗰啲裏面嗰啲學生好多都好勁，壓力大啲。

乜boarding 迫學生參加music / sports 咩？ day school 就唔使？簡直不能相信學校會有如此安排。

我仔都係返boarding, 學校冇強迫要boarders 參加music/sports. 參加否是自願性質。

Boarding school 嘅精萃就係多活動，多團隊建立，多文化交流。

乜俾咁多錢為咗係考GCE AL成績及補習，不如係香港考啦。

好唔合理，舉個例，abingdon school成績好係因為啲少數華人boarding學生撐住啲成績，所以學校點都會留返少少boarding位

我小朋友間學校其實係有要求一星期必須有三日sports活動,包括day boys. 我個人亦唔覺得呢啲活動會影響佢嘅學習成績,相反我細嗰個亦都係因為sports令到佢加強咗自信心,成績呢兩年大幅進步.不過佢只係考完gcse成績未見真章但我大嗰個已經考完a level,考a level之前所有sports係冇停到,佢哋好多同學照樣考a level之前係冇完全冇停到所有sports,呢批人入面照樣有人考4a星,有人麻麻地.
但係係咪四A*就一定入牛劍？
佢哋都有啲係冇4a*嘅,照樣入牛劍 IC或者Harvard,Stanford呢啲學校.
佢哋嘅收生唔同香港只係睇成績,呢個可能好多家長都唔清楚

多謝你的分享，相信你兒子入到心儀大學及學科。

係呀，英國收生的CO多數係低於PG，所以不一定需要4A*，或者狀元。例如兒子考劍橋係要筆試再面試，如果表現優異，大學想收，個offer係低d。美國係另一個極端。

利申：兒子入唔到劍橋，他考lB。他另一個同學入劍橋係38/45。
