今日收到HKIS R2 offer，正在讀FIS。
想問下大家覺得邊間比較好？
(校風，讀書成績，小朋友的操行etc)

May I know when u have the interview with HKIS.Coz we also had an interview with HKIS in late Feb for R2.thx

I suggest you stay in FIS, the academic level is higher (unless of course if this is not important to you). This year, HKIS even cease the math enrichment stream. Their math curriculum (adopting a US textbook) is at least 1 year behind other IS like FIS or ESF (not even to mention GSIS etc). Apparently some people are not happy about the big gap in the standards between different students.

The students and teachers are friendly, and so most kids will have happy school life. But beware most teachers only stay for a few years (part of their "asian adventure" and so my guess is that some may not be as committed as those in some IS with many teachers staying for many years.

The campus is 6 star, I must say.

Conduct: fine in primary, but some issues in middle and high school (but to be fair, common in other IS especially those with lots of rich and/or expat kids)

My boy is in the high level math group. In their class 3 streams of math levels…I don’t know whether this is solely because the class room teacher is very much interested in math
Last time I saw they were doing fraction additions & deductions. Besides, every week they have homework for Olympic math.

My feelings is HKIS has curriculum individually designed. I used to have my boy go to GSIS and now I changed my point of view.

Is your boy still very young? I don't think they have individually designed curriculum. They adopt the Bridges in Math textbook (used for many schools in US) and if you take a look (your kid should have brought it home for zoom), you will know the content. Everyone uses the same textbook. They used to have pull out classes for Math enrichment (common in US schools) but they stop this year. Understandably there are discontent among some parents (whose kids in enrichment), while many other parents are more than happy. This year they also stop from participating in the Math olympiad competition held by MOEMS. May be the mentioning of the names of those awarded gold or silver or other awards in the year end assembly is really not a good thing.

My boys one in grade 3 one in grade 11, both of them have different math streams at their grade
And my elder son participated in several math competitions

May I know how would you compare these two schools HKIS and GSIS? We have the offer and not yet decided.

Do you know how does HKIS send out offers and rejection letters?Is it on the same day?
Some schools just send out offers, reserve list and rejection on same day.
