想知道香港嘅牙醫多數賺幾多錢
自己開診所難唔難？競爭大唔大？

港大每年牙醫畢業生唔多, 而且香港人宜家著重咗牙齒健康/矯齒, 我覺得係好有前(錢)景

牙科畢業不外乎：政府、私院、自己開、進修。
政府位少但穩定，私院一般拆賬式或者自顧式當向醫院租器材姑娘，掂唔掂好睇個別能力。
我中同係牙醫，幾年前先至出嚟開，撞啱社會事件同疫情，間舖又簽咗死約捱貴租。
我諗要好揾一係名醫本身有客，一係專科先得。

首先要check學校喺唔喺香港牙醫管理委員會認可既，
然後睇下夠唔夠四年實習，
跟住安排考試，
最後合格咗就可以攞到執業證書。
同西醫情況相似，香港牙醫執業試唔係咁容易合格。

我知呢個好睇個人能力，但係一般做私人診所可以賺到幾多錢？我淨係知美國fresh grad associate 牙醫稅後大概有$90000usd年薪，計返同做香港政府牙醫差唔多
做私人診所會唔會賺得多過做政府？

私人執業收入好參差，名醫或專科百萬以上唔出奇，普通嘅好難講。
我中同話而家呢代牙醫走向專科化，例如佢如果接到要箍牙嘅客係要轉介去矯正科。長遠嚟講可能要考埋專科資格先至比較有保障。
出嚟自己開，首兩年要守要儲客，預咗少生意，另外加埋器材費，要預七位數字資金，因此你可見市面牙醫診所頗多係兩人或以上合伙。

For money, I seriously doubt that you would get this as a fresh grad dentist in US after tax (美國fresh grad associate 牙醫稅後大概有$90000usd年薪)? In HK, salary for fresh grad do have at lease $6-70,000 per month before tax. For owning your practice, anything from 200,000 per month is possible, depending your skill. But again, you will need to get passed the License exam first which still got a low passing rate. Opening up a clinic is only a matter of money but not difficult.
But for living, being dentist is less pressure and more easy life in HK than in US, especially you are a cantonese speaking Chinese.

Big cities like LA and NYC are very saturated and competitive. You need to go rural if you want to earn more. It is possible to earn over $200,000 if you practice in rural area, but I'm a city girl and am not interested in rural life. I love living in the States because places are less crowded, and people are nicer and more easy-going. Meanwhile, Hong Kong is a big city with a shortage of dentists (so maybe less competitive if I open my practice in the future?). It's very convenient and has lots of great food. It has much lower taxes than the US. My whole family is also Hong Kong. I can live with my family to save money during the first few years. What deterring me to come back are my lack of resources and dental connections in Hong Kong. I don't know the career developmental and earning potentials in Hong Kong. Also, the Chinese government is trying to take over Hong Kong, I don't know how the future of Hong Kong would be. There isn't much information online, and I don't know any dentists in Hong Kong. That's why I decided to make a post here, hoping people who know a little bit about the dentistry in Hong Kong can give me opinions.

May I provide some facts about dentistry in HK:
HKU Dental Faculty offer for BDS increase from around 60 in last decade to 90 in 2023 (prosposed)
Dentist licenceship passing rate, all three parts, varies from 30% to 50% in past years.
Some overseas dentistry graduated will take the routes of graduate study in HKU Dental Faculty while taking the licenseship exam.
In past year, quite a number of govt dentist left govt dental system.

家族有人自己開樓上舖，但佢係響機構全職做咗十幾年，已經儲咗班熟客先出嚟開。同埋佢每星期只返去幾日，將booking全部排哂響嗰幾日做，其他日子出外面機構返兼職，或者休息吓，佢覺得咁樣比較開心，同埋D兼職全部都係人哋搵上門，唔係自己搵！當然初入行都要捱吓，但其實做到咁上下，表現ok，最緊要個人唔好收收埋埋，自然會有人脈，香港做牙醫ok㗎，起碼佢冇聽過有同學想做但冇工開

I want to live in a big city. If I decide to stay in the US, I might practice in Boston since I love the city so much. Boston has problems like other big cities (LA, SF, NYC). It is saturated and has a very high cost of living. I wonder why not move back to Hong Kong. It is a big city, but with a shortage of dentists, meaning less competition and more earning potential. Family is also one of the concerns. Sometimes I feel lonely although I have friends in the US.

返嚟香港執業要考牌，我覺得比較少人會一次過pass，通常practical 都起碼要考兩次,你可以考咗牌再諗。

如果想做政府牙醫，呢幾年非常容易，請極都唔夠人，連new graduate 都唔想入政府，不過政府會提供一個機會你可以在職做到specialist（orthodontic, Paediatric, oral and maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, perio, Family dentistry)，如果因為呢你又可以考慮一下入政府，不過當然都要幫佢做幾年野先有份考

居於香港以外地方的註冊牙醫名單：代表目前不在執業？還是代表什麼呢？
專科醫生：貌似全部專科醫生都有香港資歷，但是普通科好多完全冇香港資歷？
固然好多英語國家資歷，但是都好多菲律賓，泰國，大陸，可以直接來港執業？

好多新一代牙醫都係父母打本畢業就出來開舖。牙醫無客可能係你見唔到有人等，房內真係有客唔奇。
醫生一樣，早3年起，多咗普通gp自己開舖，我見商場佢真係無咩客，唔知點圍皮。再加covid19人人帶罩，兼wfh少咗射波，兼停課少咗學童染病，全行除咗某幾行專科做到無停手外，真係唔易過。

呢d都睇天時地利人和，我反而諗多唔多牙醫移民？
回返樓主，係美國讀dentistry 唔易，點解唔先打鐵趁熱，試咗果邊執業先呢？果邊嘅經驗都係有含金量，之後去邊個國家都好，都可能有用。例如香港某些專做eng native speaking，serve expat，high-end clinic,都會考慮請樓主你呢類background的“hk新牌仔”. 呢d客係優質，絕對好做（如果佢請你嘅話）。

我諗嘅嘢完全同你一樣。
認識一個五十歲牙醫，他常常想有人頂咗佢盤生意。
仲要佢嘅年紀和資歷已經較為好過。
另外，香港有一部人會返大陸整牙。
我在香港整一隻牙的牙套，等於她們在大陸整六隻的價錢。
香港整一隻牙套又要配色，又要等另一邊再match再整。
等一星期配，再一星期先套上。唔啱色又要再等再整。
聽她們說，大陸一條龍服務，不用左等右等。
那麼，我不知過多幾年會發展到怎樣。

美國LA醫生朋友常說美國牙醫好賺，
呢啲global index 上網就看到。
自己考慮清楚。

你可以 approach 吓 五六十歲的牙醫，傾吓頂手費囉。
曾經有牙醫朋友問我其他朋友下一代有冇興趣。
