仲諗緊應該YEAR 7 定YEAR 9 先比佢過去!
小朋友數理比較強, 英文較弱, 請問有邊D 寄宿學校比較合適?
真心請教!

如果諗住Y7/Y9過去，個人意見係數理強根本唔係重點。無論數理幾強，GCSE都要考其他科（Englsih/History/MFL等等）。

我認為去寄宿首先都係諗下寄宿體驗，喺GCSE level，無乜邊間會特別教衰小朋友。但係學校有幾多boarders，重視啲咩Extra curricular，就好影響小朋友體驗。

其實香港學生數學都比當地學生強，反而留意學校關顧寄宿學生和過往公開考試成績！

如果小朋友英文較弱，會否Year 7過去？Year 9入學對英文要求應該更高。

英文弱，比我就year 7開始，速度口音都要適應，寄宿生活又係要時間適應。數學就大部份香港人過到去都冇問題初中好容易

不過呢個只係講入一啲競爭比較激烈嘅學校，其他學校Year 9入學英文有一定水平，都可以慢慢再學同適應。幾時去主最緊要睇小朋友係咪ready去英國。

無論係Years 7去，定係Years 9去，都要學 KS3 既 12 科。數理幾強都好，最多只係對其中既3科（Maths、Science、Computing）有利，另外9科都要煩惱。

講得啱，香港學生既數學，係唔係都比當地學生好啲，所以喺香港數理強，優勢其實唔會太大。

上年考year 9，學校的comment話數學考得好好，very impressive，但係英文未meet倒佢地水平，唔收！
所以考學校，數學好係基本要求，英文好先大機會入倒出名的boarding school

英國政府嘅KS3 (Y7-Y9) curriculum就specify有12科包括：English, Maths, Science, History, Georgraphy, MFL, D&T, Art & Design, Music, PE, Citizenchip同埋Computing。但只限state school先要跟。

一般私校就比較彈性，會有呢啲subjects再加拉丁文／希臘文「揀」但就未必會指定讀晒12科。

KS3 / KS4 curriculum

Key stage 3

Compulsory national curriculum subjects are:

English

modern foreign languages

citizenship

Schools must provide religious education (RE) and sex education from key stage 3 but parents can ask for their children to be taken out of the whole lesson or part of it.

Key stage 4
