係會收$教多啲嘢，一般understanding係入VSA嘅機會亦都大啲。如果一心入VSA係會甘心俾呢個$嘅。否則其實每月俾多一倍，出去學咩都有。

Vic Hh校長話step up 並唔係為左考VSA..而係for 考local 直資小學...本身已經比緊$11000一個月但原來仲要比到$17000 一個月先至話夠考直資(emoji)step up係著重訓練小朋友讀寫能力...一個星期睇中英文書各4-5本 vic HH K1 已經有step up..

其實學校有揀過，入step up class嘅學生通常都係比較突出嘅，仲要加埋返全日，咁考學校都自然有優勢啲嘅。

值唔值得就好個人，但基本上好多都會報step up,所以係爭崩頭！

(emoji)大女讀了兩年step up,最後靠自己三個月內狂谷中、英之先考到間好小學，所以如果只靠step up冇乜用，留返$8000自己學嘢好過

讚成樓上yjoleung的reply。維記本身的curriculum同教法都是行IB的，其實會更加銜接國際學校的入學。step up是多加咗target local school的內容。記得另一個post有人提過如果想入LS點解唔直接入d專門 target LS的幼稚園而要來維記，我估係因為有d家長一開頭未決定到，維記收咗就讀住先，或者有d家長想LS同IS兩邊都試。

Step up class provides only 30 min extra class time per day. If you discount the Friday afternoon class, which is optional and mainly encourages kids to share readings or any random thoughts, the extra tuition fees only buy 2 hours of extra class time per week.
While the COVID measures are in place, the afternoon class is conducted via zoom from 2:15 to 2:45. Not all classes are academically intensive. A lot of times, they are rather easy going classes, possibly taken into consideration kids' concentration is low after lunch.
As to whether it's difficult to get in, school invites all parents to elect whether they want to do full day. Depending on how many sign up, there could be a selection process but it's certainly not based purely on academic achievements. Eagerness of parents in petitioning to the school probably matters more.

There are two step up classes for K2 and yes most of the kids are quite smart with a lot of them conversationally fluent in both Mandarin and English. It's a happy learning environment and my kid just loves going to school.

In terms of academic rigors at K2 level, maths is relatively weak and remains at single digit addition and subtraction. Most K2 kids should be relatively strong in phonics and can read Ladybird Level 3 books with little to no help. Some kids can also start reading simple Chinese books. Judging by what the additional 30 min a day does or does not teach, I doubt there should be any difference in terms of average academic competence between the "normal" classes and the "step up" classes. Parents mainly sign up with the hope that it buys better chance of getting into VSA but those statistics have never been published so it's really a lot of hearsay amongst parents.

Vic HMT 用家- 唔係好覺 step up 專for 精英，但似乎係先報名先排，所以可能係進取份子先會去一早申請，而佢哋因為本身都進取，家長一定也有其他行動去幫小朋友考學校.個人認為vic 唔係好focus 考小一，因此應該參加step up 都可能只係做番其他考小一為目標學校會做，即係上午happy IB leaning , 下午加入local school 元素

根本好多父母係所謂名幼就報，
完全唔清楚報個間學校既教育方針等等…

其實我都睇唔出我仔點IB.不過k3相比其他傳統幼稚園，抄寫，測試默書算少d，同埋都叫做做下Project , 題目疑似好深層次個d保護環境.
Local school - 我覺得係多d學術性，寫字等
成績表好明顯，唔會有幾分，只是一些比較抽象的指標，例如經常做到，或者一，二，三階段

何文田冇stepup,得全日班放1630可以瞓午覺，同考vsa冇關，因k3開學前vsa已出結果(waitlist唔知有冇關係），九龍區得hg有step up, k1開始
