恭喜你有好好的offer，間間也是level差唔多。我會考慮想男校定男女校，之後會揀地區。希望有機做同學

Oundle 2019, 2020 公開試表現好似下降咗，主要係咩原因？

另有朋友用「狂野」形容Oundle嘅女仔，爬呢度嘅文又有人提過女仔食煙。呢間係town school, 請問校風如何？

樓主話如果撇除寄宿因此，就教學，傳統，學生質素，學術以外活動等比較，所以好奇問下Caterham 同 Epsom 怎比，兩間都非常受中國香港人喜愛。

請問樓主係想讀男校、或男女校為主。而且地區同寄宿比例都不相同，所以好難比較
個人比較喜歡 Oundle因為 full boarding , 男校就whitgift

我都明係比較麻煩.....

小朋友讀緊男校，所以都想讀返男校。但好多男校Year 9先收生，Year 7選擇比較少。但Dulwich同Whitgift又太少boarders，不過屋企人會過去，遲啲轉day其實亦可以。

Oundle寄宿經驗好，但又唔係男校，所以仲諗緊條路應該點。

其實最想入Tonbridge, 不過要大個啲先收，依家唔使諗。

如果樓主諗住幫囝囝報year 7, 你會唔會考慮 Prep. School? 好多 Prep School 都係 single sex.

有考慮，亦已取得幾間prep schools嘅offers, 有兩間都係Kent, 都送咗一定數量學生去Tonbridge。所以同時都諗會唔會唔要senior school嘅offers搏一鋪；但如果到時搏唔到，又唔知最後去唔去得返呢啲學校。

我自己都想讀prep school搏一搏，但老公似乎想穩陣啲。仲未有定案.... 所以想請教一下大家再諗

Dulwich成績好，如果小朋友肯讀嘅話一定可栽培成材。（其實我覺得呢度講嘅學校都係）。當年我地school visit, 都遇到啲好bright嘅學生。學生如果要講不足嘅話，就係我麻麻地鐘意佢嘅location, 同埋boarding house比較細，主要都係得亞洲人住

可考慮 The New Beacon

The vast majority of New Beacon boys are prepared for a Year 9 entry into a senior school of their choice. Whilst Tonbridge School is the preferred destination for the lion’s share, Sevenoaks School runs a close second.

I think one important consideration is whether you want Boys school or Co-ed school.
For Co-ed, Oundle is the most famous and historic among three and Epsom is very famous of its academic results in science subjects.

For Boys school, both Whitgift and Dulwich are good academic, NOT top. Both of them are very good at sports which make the atmosphere not purely academic and it may not fit the appetite of some parents even boys.

Both Dulwich and Whitgift has a very low percentage of boarding, and it is even less if you take out the Weekly Boarders from the calculation. This makes the boarding house pretty hollow during weekend.

Tonbridge is certainly more academic than Dulwich and Whitgift. It is also further from London which can be a plus. I have not passed by Dulwich before, but I can tell you the Tonbridge campus is huge and STUNNING. Also a lot of top boys from DBS, Co-ed, St Paul boys go Tonbridge and Tonbridge's Oxbridge percentage of Tonbridge is much higher than Dulwich and Whitgift. The boarding percentage is also much higher which make the boarding life much more fruitful.

That said, you can expect, comparing to Dulwich and Whitgift, Tonbridge is even more different to get in. If your boys have the offer from all of these schools, I don't see any difficulties in choosing.

P.S. Among local: Tonbridge is perceived in the same league of St Paul Boys, Eton, Westminster, Winchester and City of London.....while D & W are NOT.

Target Tonbridge嘅都有幾間prep，我喺第啲帖都講過。例如Hilden Grange, Holmewood House, New Beacon等。
其實for Y7，prep school真係好嘅choice，選擇權大好多。雖然未必一定入到target嘅senior school，但係機會都大（因為係跟local criteria唔係跟國際生criteria）。讀落原來喜歡IB又好以報埋Sevenoaks，讀得好個prep head又可能提議再報上一層樓嘅。當然仲可以試Grammar school啦。

小朋友好叻呀！我朋友囝囝在喇沙小學畢業後就去了Dulwich , pastoral care 和 brotherhood 都好好，不過佢都準備Y9 考Tonbridge!

咁你朋友囝囝跟英國本地條隊考Tonbridge，定當overseas 學生咁考？因為本地生報要兩年前申請，海外就一年前都得。佢申請得切嗎？

如果喺Dulwich讀緊，報Tonbridge Year 9，Tonbridge 向就讀學校攞reference 時，佢應該唔會好積極送走自己學生....

I don't know much about Dulwich's neighbourhood.
For Whitgift, it is located at Croydon. Croydon is like Sham Shui Po. On one side, it is closed to Yau Yat Chuen and Kowloon tong, which is all right. While on another side, it is close to Sham Shui Po and Cheung Sha Wan. And that "Sham Shui Po" and "Cheung Sha Wan" of Croydon is much much worse than in Hong Kong.

"...the area also has a problem with crime – in particular, violent crime. In fact, in 2018 Croydon was ranked one of the worst parts of London in terms of knife crime. With a total of 33,410 (including 11,771 violence against the person) crimes, Croydon is London’s ninth most dangerous borough."


"Statistics show that the most dangerous place in Croydon is Fairfield, with an astonishing 519 crimes being committed in July 2018 alone. 148 of these crimes were violent or sexual offences whilst anti-social behaviour raised 137 offences which is a dramatic increase to previous times."

My friend's son studied there few years ago.... there are several exits of the school. And there is one that the students are NOT allowed to use....because of safety reason.

Tonbridge向就讀學校收school reference ，主要係問conduct有關的問題。不會問成績有関的嘢，因為成績表、entrance test results、ukiset或ISEB已經可以反映能力。
我自己無見過人由Dulwich轉入Tonbridge，所以有點懷疑是否可行。
