英國公立學校(State-School) ---為免誤會, 有些中文譯PUBLIC SCHOOL為公立學校, 所以好多人以為英國Public School係免費, 其實英國PUBLIC SCHOOL (如Eton/Harrow) 係要收高昂學費的, 並非本文所談及的學校

我會分為三類selective school/ partially selective school/ non-selective school

selective school: 一般稱為grammar school (注: 有D校名寫grammar school 其實係私校黎)。

蘇格蘭因為學制唔同, 所以唔講, 全英格蘭有164間selective school /北愛都有selective school, 數量都唔少, 但威爾斯冇。我以下主力講英格蘭。有D地區有好多間: KENT, 又有D地區得2-3間

入讀Selective School, 一般要係Y5學期尾約5月至6月報11+考試, 跟住係Y6學期9月初考11+試, 10月中出成績, 跟住你就要在10月報學校…(我記得non-selective/selective 報學校時間差唔多)

離唔開呢4份Paper, 不過記住每個地區都會有少少唔同, 可以有D counrty唔考其中1-2份PAPER, 又或者有D paper會計高分D (大概每個country : 即Kent/Essex都可能會唔同), 而有D學校(通常勁校), 會自己出份PAPER考學生。

最後根據成績收學生, 如果同分就住得近(或有兄弟姐妹或宗教而有優先), 間間學校未必一樣。

Partial Selective School: 即某比例人數跟成績或某些活動收生: 一般5%-45%都有

呢間10%按成績收生, 其餘就係宗教優先

non-selective school: 又叫Comprehensiveschool, 即係普通中學比每個council 居民抽獎, 一般就可能有兄姐就讀優先/相同宗教優先跟住就計屋企同學校直線距離收生, 所以會好多人為左讀好學校去信教/搬近D。一般都係Y6學期10月時報名中學。

如果一個區有Selective School 同Non-selective School, 咁大部份好學生會去晒Selective School

如果一個區有好多Selective School-如KENT, 咁就算比你考到間成績差的Selective School, 成績都未必會好過一D 冇Selective school的區份的Comprehensive school。不過一般而言, 大部份Selective School出黎的成績係好過non-selective school。

不過成績差異又可能未必關學校事, 以下報導講左其實係增值方面, 影響唔大。一個家庭背景近似學生, 讀Selective School同non-selective school出黎成績其實差唔多。

睇Ofsted報告, 英國每間學校都有視學報告, 不過Outstanding唔代表成績好, 可以成績差學校都Outstanding ga, 而且如學校拎到Outstanding, 成10年先review一次, 所以未必可靠。以下網址可search學校報告

我補充多一點, 英格蘭好多城鎮都沒有selective school, 尤其係新發展城市。變相所有學生都會讀 non selective school，學校會用成績來幫所有學生分班(streaming) , 等於香港有分精英班。保障成績較好的學生不會被其他人拖累。

仲有，ofsted係每幾年先做一次, 可能上一次係 outstanding, 下一次再做就變咗 require improvement, 所以不能作準。而且第二級Good, 同一個評級嘅學校差別都可能好大。

同埋有咩方法可搵到間學校多唔多欺凌case??

non selective 應該是開學前都可以向council報名（9月或1月入學）。一般個區還有位就可以。一般可報3間，council看你個排名看那間可以。學校放假就沒辦法聯繫。好像是這樣。

我上個月開始找公司幫忙，用EU身分入。

如果Y6 -10月尾趕唔切報, 你係可以照向COUNCIL報名, 咁派剩D學位你就可以去讀
另外Y7/8/9/10等到英國, 都可以去COUNCIL 報名插班. 一般比你選3-5間, 如果有位就派比你, 而你又可以問左學校有冇位先填上去...有D學校會講比你聽有冇位, 有D就叫你搵學校派位算

Gov UK 可以睇到間學校總共有幾多個學生, 但睇唔到每個year group有幾多，可能你心儀的學校自己網頁上有介紹。
至於成功率，基本上有位都一定收，如果嗰間學校oversubscribed, 就會按照你嘅catchment area, 以及有冇兄弟姊妹就讀給予 priority. 但通常只係好popular嘅學校先會full.

至於你話欺凌, 依方面係學校internally處理,唔會公開, 除非有家長報警, local newspaper 可能會提及。如果你對呢方面有concern, 可以上你心儀嘅學校查看safeguarding, 如果佢哋依方面寫得好詳盡, 即係佢哋好重視欺凌以及學生身心發展健康。

State boarding EU 學生唔需要畀學費, 只係需要比住宿費

想請問知唔知英國有沒有融合教育，因為小女有輕微的自閉症，現就讀香港二三線的主流小學，若要申請去英國讀書，主流學校會不會收？

輕微自閉症冇智力遲緩應該會收(反正都係派位, 唔駛做TEST), 收完可以同學校講, 睇下點支援。而且你去左英國插班時, 如果派到老遠, 你可以試下用呢個理由上訴, 希望派近D屋企, 希望容易D照顧小朋友等等

BNO的最新安排，到現時這一刻，應該未有具體安排，亦未公布。anyway, 謝謝你，我知英國國民可以讀state school。

希望BNO安排快D公怖就佢現時既講法，right to study 係應該係可以讀state school, 不過係要等正式公怖，希望係順利安排到，坦白講無理由叫人hold住bno去揾工而子女唔可以讀state學校，eu既passport holder去uk, 子女都可以讀，我亦知道有人係申請緊居留，子女都可以入讀state school 但係唔可以申請任何福利

for Year 7 entry in September 2021.

Children born between 1 September 2009 and 31 August 2010 can register to sit the 11+ selection test for 2021 entry.

但係報名deadline 會係六月或七月，視乎邊區而定，恐怕你要而家即刻報，上網睇下仲有無地區未過deadline

但留意，有些地區報名時係需要住址的。

Year 7 係中學

另外入year 7 係升中，唔算係插班，因為其實係最佳入學時間，有中央派位，同埋好多人都係新入間學校，比較容易識朋友仔

如果過左去到year 8, 9, 10,就會係插班，即 in year admission

好多學校有 13 plus 考試，即十三歲考入讀 year 10, 果個位會係另一個比較多人轉校的時機，開始gcse之後，即係year 10, 好少學校會俾你中途轉，免得影響gcse學習

之前我陪阿女去考試，其實都覺得有點lonely, 因為無乜人明白我地要走既路，遇到困難時，都係自己唸點樣做，我去左uk既時候都係一齊溫習多，實在無乜出街，同自我隔離差不多！

中間幫阿女溫習時，遇到教極唔明時，又會覺得幾depress, 好似自己做得唔夠好咁！

仲記得去考試時，有D家長好多都互相認識，有講有笑，果剎那就覺得自己特別alone

其實入year 7 or 其他 year 並不一定須要考11 plus, 有大部份地區其實都係根據住址同埋附近D學校有無位，收生條件等等，由 council派學校俾你。如果唔想考11 plus的可以考慮，有些london既council會有一個綜合考試，但果種考試比較容易，考完再派合適既學校，咁壓力會細D

要考慮到底家長和孩子想唔想考 (係彷彿一齊考一樣，我覺得好似自己都考埋！），如果決定考，必須要有充足既預備！

亦有種人，自己council可能無grammar school既，佢地可以跨區考試，周圍去考，London 好多人係咁，因為可以搭火車返學，所以火車車程一小時內到既區份，都充滿着London 既外區考生。也令到競爭更為激烈！但有些人係抱著試下既心態，因為考試係免費既，你鐘意咪去考攞！

其實我一開始揀selective 唔知係咪對自己定阿女有信心，我一開始確是睇小左個試，我以為佢係香港既學校幾OK, 應該問題不大，但事實上唔係，操卷真係做到儍，由於我地決定到考試日只有四個月時間，之前都係忙唸係邊度住，邊D學校比較下，等等，所以唔係幾夠時間溫習。我覺得我地其實係本住覺得值得一搏既心態去試，我又覺得如果唔俾佢試下考，好似好可惜！

其實我覺得應該試下，我去年都係六、七月開始操卷，主要係英文生字要開始早D背，我唸本地學校數學應該比較強，有優勢，我女的國際學校數學實在太淺，所以比較吃力。

主要卷分：

Verbal reasoning (語言）
Mon verbal reasoning (圖案)
Maths

但如果到考試當天都完全無做過papers, 我看比較難pass, 因為個試既問題格式有些特別，須要練習下先會容易D明白同快D。如果唔熟佢問既格式，睇題目都可能浪費幾分鐘以上！

但好難估結果會係點！我當初都唔覺得我個女pass到

However it is up to the school to choose what the core subjects are sometimes if it doesn't deviate from the national guidelines.
My daughter has to do English Literature in year 9 and she will have to do English Literature GCSE (have to, not a choice), so I guess many schools are having English Literature as a core subject (have to do subject)

also science and Maths too (have to do science and Maths GCSE)

即係如果我打算比小朋友過去讀Grammar school係咪最好唔好遲過year 10？因為冇乜機會有插班位

Thanks. 不過我小朋友今年已經升中，應該只可以插班，所以諗緊應該中二定中三轉過嚟讀比較好

My daughter loves uk because she likes the house there, much bigger than HK. She seems to be fine, she doesnt really think about it so much, to be honest.

當地local學校歧視勁嗎？

This is hard to say, it really depends on what kind of kids u happened to come across, if one is unlucky and came across some bullies, life can be difficult, however, u can always report the issues to school and seek help.

考政府學校要去英國考

考私校大多數可以係香港考

Agent 應該係話私校，因為政府學校係免費的，應該無 agent 做

謝謝你，其實係唔係一定要讀grammar school先好？Outstanding or Good嘅一定成績無咁好嗎？我發現多Grammar schools嘅區，治安好似都無咁好咁。。。。

Grammar School 成績好D, 但如果孩子努力讀書，差別其實唔大，都可以入Oxbridge。

其實睇個別學校，好多區都無 grammar schools, 但係好多好既學校，不過要花D時間睇下，學校網站通常都有考試成績，可以參考。

治安又真係睇區, don't think grammar schools will make the region more safe or unsafe.

明白，其實如果去到，第1年(year7 or year 9)先讀附近一間學校，覺得唔對路再搬屋轉其他學校，咁嘅情況又是否common呢？

Yes, as long as your child has a British passport and a residential address, you can apply state funded school.

Yes, the closer the school from your home, the bigger the chance you can get in. There are no state boarding around London/M25. You can have a look at the schools in Surrey I guess?
