Wellington都係top school! 相比其他一樣難入！

當年agent有建議俾大囡，仲話每年只收幾個Asian girls，但係報名要寫文自我介紹，阿囡㸊得寫，自動棄權！

A Tonbridge old boy (aged 70+) in England just told me his school had changed a lot. He hints there are things he might not like. May be Tonbridge has become rather aggressive (hence recent excellent exam results). Take Tonbridge if exam results are of paramount importance to you. On the other hand, if you like the idea of co-educational schools for your son, Wellington is not a bad choice. Ultimately, it should be decided by your son's views and feelings.

Really thanks for your information. Definitely, I will let him choose the school after a discussion with him about all information related to these two schools. I wish he will enjoy his school life in his selected school in the future.

我們今年二月已經參觀過這兩校(去面試兼參觀), 我的小朋友兩間學校都好鐘意. 好幸運地兩間學校都給他2021年寄宿學位. 所以希望先在此能收集多些這兩校的資料，才去決定取捨。真的多謝這裏各位的意見和資料！

My son is an old boy of Tonbridge and we are very happy with the school, not only for academic support but the all rounded development and pastoral care of the boys. My son still has strong bonding with the school and friends from there. We just went to a Tonbridge event in HK, I was amazed by the crowd of old old boys (aged 40+ now) demonstrating so much love and bond with the school after so many years! And they all are successful people now.

我阿仔現在Tonbridge 讀緊Y10,學校讀書氣氛很好，生活上的照顧也令我放心。佢試過隻手受傷，Matron即時駕車帶佢睇急症，之後覆診也是車出車入陪佢，亦有email 話我知佢的情況。每次放假機場接送也安排得很好，無論你同大家一齊搭coach 或搭的士都會安排妥當，你只要通知學校搭邊班機就可以。課外活動也多，亦有唔同的trip可以參加。仔非常喜歡學校，話俾滿分

Sorry that I reply you in English because I type English is faster than Chinese.
Briefly to say, you have to know the registration deadline of your targeted school. Those information can be found in the school website. Most of the top schools require the applicant to register 3 years before the actual entry year. (My son registered in June 2018 for Tonbridge and Wellington.) Then, you have to prepare to take ISEB common pretest or their entrance exam. (Both Tonbridge and Wellington require their applicant to take common pretest.) After taking the test, the school will notify you that your kid will have interview or not. (Both Tonbridge and Wellington would have an assessment day for applicant if they think the pretest result of applicant is acceptable.) At last, the school will contact you the result of interview.

Thanks for the detailed reply. so where did you take the pretest exam? in HK? and how did you manage to go to UK to take the interview for both schools given their interview date may be different? thanks

My son took the Pretest in HK. Luckily, Wellington has few days for us to choose and one of the days can fall into the same week as Tonbridge assessment day.

Personally recommend Wellington because its more well-rounded and very good pastoral/academic/extra-curricular support. Might be biased though!

From the academic perspective, it is hard to pick one.

I think perhaps to consider - single sex vs co-edu; location; campus; house condition; surrounding environment etc.
