My son gets conditional offers from both Imperial (Maths) and LSE ( Maths with Econ). I'm wondering which one he should firm. It's really hard to decide as both are renowned unis. Could anyone please advise? Say, in what criteria I have to consider and compare? Please.

Could you tell me which criteria you base on?
Do you mean that employers prefer LSE graduates than Imperial graduates in banking and finance fields? Or do you mean that the subject of Maths with econ in LSE is more preferable to have a job in banking and finance than studying Maths in Imperial?
Thanks.

Imperial mathematics is very ... very difficult to read. From technical view, besides Cambridge, there is no match for Imperial math in UK. However, as your son targets finance industry, I assume he has some interests in economics instead of pure sake of money. Pretty obvious Imperial math depart does not do economics. If my memory serves, math students are not even "welcome" to Imperial business school joint course.
LSE is top-ranked economics, finance, law and social science school in UK and even Europe. Besides teaching domain knowledge, It always allows students valuable training on writing, presentation and the most important, communication skill with layman. It is not easy for a straight math degree to equipment students with these.
While both prestigious universities will put your son in good banks, LSE may open more doors on different positions. Of course, if your son's only interest is on such technical positions as analysts, controllers ..., he may have a different choice.

Thanks for inspiring insights. My concern is that LSE is ranked far lower than IC in maths. As my son is offered Maths with Econ instead of Econ in LSE. This is what I'm struggling.
