請問在英國讀LAW可在英國做律師嗎?

都有機會，不過耍名牌law school高成績畢業.最好流利兩文三語，英國law firm都做唔少大陸客.

對，讀埋master, 再加interview 出色. 實在太多唔同國家的尖子想留低工作，競爭好大.反而有冇英國護照唔係律師行的考慮因素.

朋友囡囡打算讀Law，但佢話 oxford or cambridge 只能報一間，我唔記得咩原因，咁應該點揀?

有冇居留權 ( 當然有EU passport都OK)，絕對係律師行重要考慮因素！

宣佈脱歐之後，一般大行都請少左人.朋友女兒有護照，在英名law school讀埋master,都揾唔到工，返左香港讀pcl.每人際遇難講

My niece (studying in Durham, of 100% Hong Kong origin , ie no UK or EU passport) just obtained a TC offer from a magic circle firm and a boutique firm in London after finishing her summer vacation schemes with them. Her fluency in Chinese (spoken mandarin at mother tongue level) and participation in students activities with leadership roles is a definite advantage.

In fact, Cambridge is still the most preferred university of the biggest Law firm (followed by Oxford and Durham):

The reason why I put so many 'd' in the first place is that I do not want to evoke any argument. I am neither a solicitor nor barrister but I do have connection with many law students in HK and UK. That's what they told me, so please ignore what I said (I will edit that out) and continue the discussion.

I can't draw the conclusion you've made from the link you provided but rather Oxford comes first among the city firms.

One significant difference is that exams are taken every year in Cambridge but concentrated in the 3rd (final) year in Oxford.

Oxford's master (BCL) is considered to be more prestigious than Cambridge's LLM.

如冇得留低:return to Hong Kong and take the conversion exam

This is true! Oxford’s BCL (master) is more prestigious than Cambridge’s LLM.

You are right, but the 2018 survey shows Cambridge, Oxford, Durham, and the rest, in that order. I was told the survey results a month ago. Will post it when it is available online.

那幾間 MC, 一年收 trainee 總數達 4百多個.
只要學校好成績又好,要入 MC 亦不太難.

如果中文好,普通話流利就更加如虎添翼,可惜這個條件很少人有,尤其很多香港學生不知何故,賤視中文.

這個Chamber Student 的統計很有趣, 但要小心解讀, 因為它的資料來自下游 (英國的律師行僱主)

如果資料來自上游 ( law schools),將每間 law school 畢業生的去向作統計,結果或者會有點分別.

舉個例, London 那幾間 law schools,特別多海外生,畢業後很多返回家鄉,不留在英國, 所以英國僱主聘用的 London law graduates 比例上就少了.

一個比較明顯例子是 LSE, 每年單是香港人都可能有十多個,多數一畢業就回港讀 PCLL (如果有位), 因為驚 PCLL 愈來愈難.

最後這班 LSE 港生,很多入了香港的 MC 分行.

海外生和父母們,如果單看 Chamber Students 的數字,可能會奇怪為甚麼 LSE UCL KCL 排得那麼低.
