Do you want city life or campus life, the vibes of London or the beauty of Durham?

In terms of uni rankings, Durham is ahead of King’s.

In terms of employers’ preference, again Durham is ahead of King’s. According to this survey, the biggest law firms prefer Durham:

Actually, If you check the LinkedIn profiles of magic and silver circles partners, you will see a number of them graduated from Durham.

雖然 ranking 唔代表一定優勝,不過若以此作準則的話,上面說的----

In terms of uni rankings, Durham is ahead of King’s.

似乎和現實相反。

KCL 無論在QS及THE 的整體世界排名及法律這科目排名均高過Durham

根據TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION (THE) 2019世界排名 overall KCL #38, Durham #114,
      Subject: LAW 的世界排名 KCL #25, Durham #42

QS 2019排名 overall  KCL# 31,  Durham #74
   subject: Law and Legal Studies  KCL #20 Durham #47

邊間易入好難講,兩間我都識人經foundation入到,不過不是讀法律是讀Biological/ Biomedical science.
當然大路多數收GCE A level 生。

至於邊間好D都無準則,視乎個人喜好。應該詳細看下課程內容

KCL is more popular and well-known internationally. But Durham is highly regarded in the UK and among lawyers.

不過Durham响UK Uni Ranking 長期响Top 10，KCL就唔係。

只可以說不同機構用不同準則計算排名分數。有些以出產論文,得獎名人知名校友...; 有些則以入學門檻,學生滿意度..佔比重

發覺香港的升學代理比較喜歡用The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 及 The Complete University Guide 的英國大學排名吸引家長報名,這些排得高的大學普遍有私立預備班或有些聯繫課程開設給國際學生入讀。

入面部分大學排名比傳統出名的大學更高。例如 Lancaster/ Leeds/ UEA/ Surrey/ Exeter/ Sussex/ ... , 排名高於傳統名校 Edinburgh, KCL, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow...。雖然前面那些都是不錯的大學,但是否屬全英前6至前15之列,

而後面那幾間名校卻在2x至3x之間, 似乎有點兒不實在..

始終QS / TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION (THE) 認受性高,各地的政府及私人機構普遍都是參考這兩個排名榜。

若考慮回港發展,我會參考QS / THE作準。如打算留英就無所謂。

三者比較，個人覺得THE 的 UK university ranking 代表性高過其餘兩個。起碼在大部分人心中 UCL 唔應該低過Durham, Warwick; 更加無可能低過Lancaster。雖然不同機構的評分標準有分別，但不應差距太遠，否則就降低了參考價值。

The Complete University Guide is considered a pretty reliable source, and often agrees with other world rankings. However, it is quite biased towards research output.
The Guardian doesn’t include research but does include additional measures on teaching quality and job prospects. If you are planning undergraduate study it might be more a reliable way to determine how successful you will become.The Times includes research output and teaching, but gives a lot of weight to subjective measures like the Student Satisfaction Survey. If you are looking for a way to determine how much you will enjoy a university, that might be more reliable.
On a general point, You need to dig into the individual subject rankings which often differ, substantially, from the university’s overall ranking.

當然不是這兩個主要以研究院為主排名。

THE 研究論文的比例相對是高，但QS佔20%左右又不是偏高喎！睇多一個多人留意的ARWU, 只有2018年度排名，UCL 17, KCL 56, Durham 200後

好似英國 London Business School, Royal College of Art 都只開研究院課程都分別在 QS Business & Managent, Art & Design 都有排名；而英國本身兩個排名榜分科排名都不會上榜

Whatever the uni rankings say, the biggest international city firms continue to prefer Durham (ranked 3rd after Oxford and Cambridge) to KCL (ranked 8th) and UCL (ranked 9th).

曾經有一間香港知名 Law firm 做的同我講，Oxbridge, LSE, UCL, KCL，in this order. 其他嘅佢好少請。牛劍名氣分別太少，但課程頗不同的，報一間適合你自己讀的。LSE/UCL 名氣又係分別少，而課程頗不同，亦需要揀一間適合自己讀的。其餘就是 KCL. 他說如果差少少入唔到呢5 間，下年試多次。

而阿女學校成績好的文科人，絶大部分選牛/劍，LSE, UCL, KCL, Durham. In this order.

邊間易入, 我覺得Durham應該容易啲入。

你可以上 thestudentroom.co.uk 睇下, 有人分析了並share每間大學的 offer 數目、offer成績要求、offer的LNAT分數、結果就讀學生的成績等statistics, 當然分析都是based on IB分數及GCE成績。

今年一個DSE學生的conditional offers給你參考:
Durham 3X要555，但英文可以當做1X
KCL 3X 要5*55

睇ranking都晒氣
搵最top嘅工老細都只會睇prestige而唔係ranking
就算睇ranking都係睇最計學術成就嘅arwu ranking
我自己以前做ibank,如果唔係讀law
美國: h y p s m,其他ivy, caltech, chicago, northwestern, duke, berkeley, williams, amherst
英國: Cambridge, oxford, lse, ic, ucl/warwick

law方面係香港做kcl一定好過durham
做下linkedin search睇下city firm有幾多kcl出黎幾多durham出黎
但如果你係白人英國搵工冇咩分別

香港計外國degree oxbridge lse, ucl, kcl, usyd, unsw
美國唔計因為美國行us jd new york bar,返黎做foreign lawyer
