Mind share your views of below :

1. 30 pupils/class with a teacher and an EA vs 24 pupils/class with just one teacher, which one allows more effective delivery of classes?

2. No doubt the ratio has significant impact for kindergarten and lower primary students. But what about upper primary students? How would you weight the ratio comparing to curriculum, teachers’ quality etc when choosing a sch?

Thx!

Normally we would think the smaller the better (teacher-student ratio). The teacher can pay/give more attention to each child. However, I think it all comes down to the quality of the teachers and how the EAs are utilised in the classrooms.

My son is in a class of 24 (Year 1) with 1 teacher and 1 EA. They do quite a lot of differentiations based on children's abilities. The teacher and EA often lead and work on different groups.
