想知道CAIS的Alberta課程係subject based, 應該適合邊種小朋友讀？同IB有幾大分別？因為唔太熟悉alberta學制

另外，CAIS初小會好多功課和assessment 嗎？

not yet, my boy is just one years old, and I'm also target CAIS as my first choice since I live near CAIS

No doubt IB is a more popular option. CAIS has also recently hired someone to setup the IB curriculum.
From my own perspectively, Alberta appears to be better for primary because it allows homework/quiz/tests/assessments; whereas IB framework in certain aspects 'restricts' the amount of homework/assessments. It is difficult for parents to assess the children's understanding. Alberta, on the other hand, allows for homework and tests/assessments to be conducted to assess on the child's understanding. The amount of homework is at a reasonable level, and not tests/assessments do not require drilling or much preparation work beforehand.

No homework and tests for Prep. Teachers will provide a book daily to the child for her reading level.

Grade 1 and 2 - homework are manageable. Reading is definitely part of the homework daily. There will be Chinese homework but is usually not due on the next day.

Grade 2 - Weekly spelling test (10 words), bible memory verse, science quiz (usually after each topic - approx. every 3 weeks), math quiz (usually after each topic - approx. every 3 weeks), Chinese dictation (10 words + 2 sentences, every 2-3 weeks), Chinese assessment (usually just before the school term ends), English reading assessment (usually just before the school term ends)
