如題....如果美國IVY League 大學可修讀經濟，但中大又可讀環球商業，還提供部分獎學金，應留港嗎？

IVY 一定好過中大，去到外國之後發現香港的大學生原來仲係小學雞！同埋你現在唔比小朋友，過幾小朋友就埋怨你當初阻止佢去IVY！IVY 同中大似終是有距離！！

咁又不一定。讀 Ivy League 的眼界和人脈可能會好D, 但前景都要視乎讀乜科和成績。若讀專業科目, 例如醫療、法津、建築、精算、Quan Finance 或 含China studies 的 global business degrees等等, 讀香港三大出路也很好, 薪酬甚至更高, 大學亦提供很多出國exchange的機會。而且香港學費大約係等如去美國讀的十分之一, 可省回幾百萬。

同意。所以更顯中大Global business 相對抵讀, 可體驗歐、美、中、港的大學生活和當地文化, 而且容易找到甚佳的intern 和 first job.

融入當地文化很重要嗎？我覺得如果affordable, 應該去，如果家景一般小康，從經濟角度來看，要再三想一想。

又唔好咁講：小學雞。過去主要是體驗唔同文化，訓練個人獨立。
至於書本的知識，大同小異。

其實都仲要睇埋 Ivy League 邊間，我會分三個 tiers 去睇︰

HYP 被統稱為 big three，一生難求的機會，唔去的話成世都可能會後悔。而且三間都係 need-blind admissions，international students 都會有 financial aid。尤其係 Harvard，如果將來同人講為左揀中大 Global Business 而放棄 Harvard，我諗會俾人笑到臉黃。

PCC 就衡量埋經濟考慮，如果 afford 得起我覺得都應該要過去，始終眼界視野會差好遠。

BD 就要睇最終想係邊度發展，如果係返香港發展，可能揀中大 global business 仲好。呢兩間無疑都係超好大學，不過係亞洲名氣稍遜其他，我唔少朋友如果叫佢列出 ivy league 有咩大學都會漏左呢兩間。

p.s. Cornell 同 Brown 排位可能會有爭議性，不過因為自己身邊朋友認識 Cornell 多過 Brown，雖然近年因為 Emma Watson 的關係，多左朋友認識 Brown。

中大的gbus, 在美半年，在歐半年，intern opportunity 也是全球性， experience 中歐美文化，眼界未必比IVY 弱！我們成日覺得得在一些欧美大学的畢業生眼界會闊啲，其實好睇個人。當然浸過，英文會好啲，但是近年學生英文水平有所提升，入得Gbus 英文唔會差，這個bonus 便得不太重要。

但是有家底，finance, cost and return  is not an issue, then go ahead!

其實 HYP 唔係好辛苦架咋，頭先都有講佢係 need-blind，國際學生都會拎到助學金，隨時錢都唔駛點俾，不過大前提要佢收你 (呢個超難！)。

可以去每間既 net price calculator 計計每年要俾幾多錢，例如下面呢個係 harvard︰

It’s no secret that investment banks have target schools, and that only the top students within those universities make the cut for front office jobs.

同埋果個所謂 ibank 排名更加無意思，Harvard 排 14、MIT 排 17、Cambridge 排 32，連整呢個 research ranking 果個人自己都講︰

"However, there are a few surprises. The data suggests, for example, that MIT or Cambridge are not among the top schools for getting into front office jobs in investment banks, coming in at 17th and 32nd respectively.  Similarly, Harvard only scrapes into the top 15.


This does not necessarily mean that investment banks don’t want graduates from these universities, but rather that students with impeccable academics from top-ranked schools are instead choosing to do something other than banking. By comparison, the LSE, Penn and Columbia have close ties with financial services organisations and a high proportion of their graduates decide to enter the financial sector."


因為唔係個個 top school 出黎既人都會 target 去做 ibank。
