My baby was born in December 2016 and we are living in Tsuen Wan. Which international kindergarten can we apply now? We are targeting the school which has kindergarten and primary sections.

你想要全英文？三文兩語？幾多錢budget？
比較大路你可以去青衣讀ESF幼稚園。
可以先參加playgroup，之後再升。

Our budget is within 10000 per month. I know it’s not easy to have interview in ESF. If I take ESF playgroup, will it be easier to enter ESF.
We are wishing our kid can learn English and Chinese at school.

Try YMCA kindergarten (West Kowloon) and the school fee for primary section is around 8k now.

如果一萬一個月選擇有好多。
但你要一條龍而又有中有英會比較難。
如果你可以自己教中文，我會建議上ESF playgroup先。因為ESF比較大路同穩陣。ESF基本上係直上小學，問題係唔係你想要的那一間小學。
你小朋友係一歲，其實唔洗咁早擔心，可以先試下esf playgroup先（如果唔happy咪轉，無downside）。荃灣去青衣好近。打好左個英文底最緊要，之後慢慢轉入有一條龍的國際學校。
如果比較近而又一條龍又有中文又成績ok，最近可選荔枝角的CAIS，但要等到5歲K3才可轉過去。

if you want your kid be good in Both chinese and Eng, dont choose international school. Their CHinese would never be good in international school. You should send your kid to local school and send them abroad in year 9. Then their chinese and English will be good.

There is no priority for ESF K1 even you join ESF playgroup. I would say entering to ESF K1 is really by luck, as the teachers did not talk and interact to the kids during K1 interview.
Also, even the child is offered with a K1, the child will be priority 7 out of 9 to get into esf primary school only, you can check on the ESF website

這個budget最好係KCIS. 中文強，又幼稚園一條龍上到中學。 CIS, ISF 嗰啲會out of budget。

YMCA 離荃灣唔遠，小學中文程度唔錯，因為中文是跟本地課程！

話雖如此，考慮Esf 幼稚園同小學比率，機率已經很高。相比起另一間好多幼稚園的維多利亞，esf比較易升上小學。。

I’m not too sure if this is true for all campus, cuz back then the assessor read my kid a story and asked questions about pictures in the book.

I don’t think it’s sheer luck to get into ESF kinder, you might said for those without priorities, getting an interview is mainly due to luck, but they do reject kids after interviews, and teachers can still choose by observations. BTW during our interview, the teachers did talk a lot to my child. Nevertheless, my advice is, if you got no other priority, 入到ESF 幼稚園一定入左先。

I did K1 interview in TY campus last month, no assessor talk to any children in our group, and just briefly asked parent 3 questions in 2 minutes. That’s why I said it’s really by luck.

Ofcoz coz you get priority 7, if you wanna get a higher priority you can work in ESF, it gets priority 2

I had the same experience with TY campus last year. And got rejected.
I did see some parents went out of their way to make their children talk in front of the interviewers.

I am not surprised to hear that. In fact, ESF prefers assessing the interaction between parents and their kids. They want to know the eng standard of both parents and kids. They will interact with kids proactively while the parents cannot make the kids talk or speak a word.

Not this year, we did ours 2 years ago at the WKS campus.I was playing train with my son and he spoke to me too, and then an assessor came and joined, before reading to him.
