I heard kids and parents will gather at the hall first. And then a few teachers will hold different color boards and call students’ names. Kids will then need to go to the teacher of that color by themselves. Then the teacher will take them to the classroom for assessment. No parent interview.

Yes, that's correct.
Parents can wait at the hall, walk around public area, or buy coffee from the cafe.

我見佢分組係有系統，唔似 random 咁抽。紅色好似比其他高啲（ie 年紀大啲）。我見有一組大部分外國人，有一組好多小朋友都著boxhill 校服

RC 唔同 ESF Foundation schools, 今年 RC 收緊嘅係 2012 同 2013 嘅小朋友，明年會收 2013 同 2014 嘅小朋友，原因係 RC 會收 local sch K3 小朋友，但 foundation schools 就一定要跟 year group 收生。

如果出年implement one form one school application （忘記了exactly 個名），咁RC未必可以再收超大B了，因為要和esf 統一

能夠入到夢寐以求既學校, 我自己當然超開心, 還記得收信當日我喊了出來, 上年兩個月內開心了兩次, 因為我先後兩個小朋友都入了, 大兒的是插班生.
小朋友們都很開心返學, 很喜歡學校生活, 很易適應, 尤其大兒雖然是新生, 班上同學們好nice, 佢好快找到朋友了. 同學家長們都好nice, 知道我們是新生好樂意提點我們注意事項. 所有老師都很有耐性, 有足夠溝通, 關心小朋友. 由於資源充足, 硬件軟件齊備, 足夠support所有學生, 就算小女是超細B, 學習較慢, 會有LET support到佢.課程程度我覺得適中, 不太hea, 不太壓迫, 而且中文是跟pathway, 繁體. 一切都很滿意, 感恩學校收了我兩隻馬騮.

No, many of us got no offer
Some of us got 2 offers.
Rc mainly gave first round offer to those who picked them as first choice in school survey.

Most of us only get one offer.So far I only know one got RC and BHS.A few on waitlist for RC + foundations or all 3.Hope they will get offer after 1st round.
But having said that, seems most ppl at least has one offer from ESF

No. Because of the uninformed survey sent by wks, I am not sure if other esf kinders ran this survey for RC.
During the central application period, wks kinder sent out a survey to k2 parents asking for their 1st choice. We don't know that such survey will be used by RC to show your "誠意' . Those showed 誠意to Rc do not need to go through assessment in RC, only observation in Wks. And finally, seems all of them get offer yesterday. For those did not marked Rc as first choice, Rc punished them by waitlist. Of course, I do heard some exceptions ( not picking Rc as first choice but got offer) . In my class , about 6 got RC offer, other class, about 8.

We are one of these lucky ones, and it’s totally out of our expectation. Cuz we read from ek that RC preferred older kids or girls who can perform or speak better in that age group. But my boy is neither.And I have no idea still how RC assessed him cuz according to my boy, he sang, danced, listened to stories, played with building blocks, drew picture and wrote his name on it, but nobody came by and spoke to him at all.On top of that, we put a foundation school as our first choice instead, yet... we got lucky.So maybe RC drew randomly from the hat too?
Anyhow, we will release the seat as soon as possible. Good luck everyone!

My daughter got an offer from RC in the first round last year and back then she couldn't even read "yes" and "no". The school states in one of the PowerPoints in their website that they don't test the kids on what they had learnt but whether they are ready to learn. I guess for a through-train IB school like RC, they are really looking for children who engage well with the teacher during the interview and get along well with other children.
In the beginning of the school year, the class teacher (she is also the year one coordinator) asked if my daughter is having any extracurricular activities and I told her only swimming and ice-skating, nothing academic. Her answer was "kids should have fun and learning is for us to care about". So, I guess they are really not looking for kids who are academically strong during the interview.

That’s good to know. But during the school tour, the RC admin officer told us they would ask kids to write their names in an interview, while foundation schools said they wouldn’t expect kids to be able to write at this age.

actually, some foundation schools did request some buy not all of the kids to write their names.

I am not sure about writing names but that's pretty basic for a K2 kid right? Could the admission manager mean "all your child need to do is to write his/ her names"? And nothing more than that..
I think it's just a way to test whether the child understand the instruction and even if he/she wrote the name in the ugliest way, it won't matter much...

我仔嗰間幼稚園往年都有人入RC. 佢地到K2完都只係教寫26個字母，同埋自己個名（仲係好肉酸果d). 宜家K1下學期先開始學連線，成個月只係連左一次（堂課），連錯晒亦不會改正。不過每星期都會畫一次畫，做好多勞作，但從不改正。ZackMama所提到的，他們堂上都會做。

你當係我錯覺，有次kg parents conference，我同老師講話RC話 interview會叫小朋友寫名，之後我就開始見我仔喺學校帶啲練習過寫名嘅紙返嚟。（之前只係俾小朋友認識自己個名嘅第一個字母）
可能錯覺啦！

我以為WKS會收到風RC考乜添！原來要家長提佢地？不過我自己覺得WKS的小朋友比我仔幼稚園的乖，英文程度也高，如果要收乖學生應該WKS符合d

Oo。。大家經歷唔同，所以我感覺唔到RC比較academicallyselective.
始終interview都好講彩數，就算係同一間學校Teacher A既標準同TeacherB既標準都唔同。我就覺得啊女既ClassTeacher都好注重discipline。聽過有個case（幼
稚園校長講），小朋友interview時推倒其他朋友仔既積木，小朋友只係貪玩，但老師就覺得小朋友態度有問題。
唔好理first round 定callwaiting, it’s just a matching game. 我相信大家都會搵到最適合自己既學校，而學校都會收到適合既學生。

今年我識人人都已有幾個offer (除非冇報其他），剩係RC vs ESF , ESF vs FIS, ESF vs NAIS etc 27號要比幾萬銀訂，應該好快會有位放，仲未計新校都唔知收夠生未，現在想入IS真的不難, 不過唔知係咪想入個間啫。但最受歡迎個D IS仍然難入，而且隨著IS個pool大左，難入的可能只會愈來愈難入。

以我理解，RC係唔講的，但佢地的admin 好有趣，你話其實我宜家有另一間學校offer, 幾時幾時要俾deposit , 但我又好鍾意RC, 所以想問下有幾大機會. 咁佢地就會講。
