請問通常會在什麼時候收到offer? 如學校沒offer 是否也會有通知？可否請大家分享一下現階段已收到的offers. Thanks.

限期內大學一定要畀通知收／唔收，有 d 大學唔到 deadline 都唔會出聲，有 d 大學兩日後已經畀答覆。

間間大學唔同。有啲快到submit 完幾小時就有offer, 有啲幾日，有啲幾星期，幾個月。應該最遲三月會收哂decisions.
我仔十月頭submit applications, 到上星期收哂4/5 間嘅conditional offers, 包括Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Imperial. 而家等緊Oxford interview or rejection.

阿仔in咗嘅3間大學包括ICL, Manchester 同Sheffield (skype call), 全部都係Applicants open day + interview (如果你親身去佢campus), 佢會有department talk, department tour 同 1:1 interview. ICL 會問academic 問題，但無Oxbridge 嗰啲咁刁鑽同challenging, Manchester 應該好informal, 似傾偈多過interview (according to 阿仔個師兄），但阿仔今次就話Manchester 問得仲academic 過ICL. 我無問阿仔about details, 可以今晚幫你再問下佢。
不過我諗即使同一學校唔同科個interview 內容都好唔同。
基本要知係Manchester 嘅interview 唔會好formal, 唔洗太緊張，同埋好似話有得in 就會有offer. 我仔in 完第二日就出offer.

Oxbridge only started sending interview offers now. All CO could only be out in Jan 2018.

Tips about the Interview
- Try and not panic at all, the interviewer just wants to know you better and why you chose this course.
- Know your personal statement inside out. My interviews with Sheffield, Manchester and Imperial were mostly about the materials I was interested in which I wrote in my personal statement.

My personal experience
All Interviews lasted about 30 minutes
Imperial College London - The interview started out with the interviewer (Dr Fang Xie) asking me about why I chose materials science and talking about myself. She then chose a specific point about my personal statement (semiconductors) in which I explained how a transistor and diode worked. We then moved on to some problems in which she gave me a statue so that I can identify the material (it was bronze) and why there were green spots on it. Finally, she asked me how many digits 2^2017 had. (hint: use logarithms).

Sheffield: The interviewer was very inormal and relaxed. She asked me (again) about semiconductors. However, what she was more interested in was concrete as she specialized in the design of materials for nuclear plants. She then asked me about my internship in which I worked with construction materials. The most intruiging question that made me actually think was the problem of the steel rusting inside concrete and what detremental effect it would have on the concrete.

Manchester: The interviewer also picked up on my keen interest in semiconductors and certainly asked hard questions that required further reading about the topic. He asked how semiconductors worked in general, the difference between a BJT and an FET as well as the electronic properties of graphene and why it was not suitable to be used in a transistor. The interview then drifted on about polymers and the semi-crystalline + amorphous arrangement of it (which was not in my personal statement)

If it is true, it has certainly not followed the normal procedures. Your daughter may ask her classmate to give more details instead.

cambridge 既 overseas interview 雖然有時會早的舉行，但係唔係應該會等晒所有 interview 完晒先會出 CO？ oxford 無 overseas interview，就算係 skype interview 都係同時舉行，下星期先開始 interview，更加無理由咁早出到 CO。

佢同學咁早就收到 CO？佢報邊個學科？

孩子的朋友曾经報考Oxford 的Music scholarship, 他们好似是九月interview 的，十月中前便已经收到conditional offer 了。

除非係呢類 special 既 music scholarship……

不過佢係怪個女唔一早報，同學早報已經收到 CO，又唔似係講緊呢的 special case 喎。

除了考音樂或vocal scholar 的同学外，真的想不到哪類同学已经拿到Conditional Offer.

你係咪mix up 咗oxbridge offer for interview instead of CO?
你話唔想考BMAT, 你女係報醫科？

medicine 有 overseas quota (無記錯係 7.5%)，要入 oxbridge medicine 變得難上加難，唔想花太多時間去報又無可厚非既。

唔係呀，Imperial 同Manchester 都係in person, 因為呢兩間佢都鍾意，sheffield 先係skype interview.

我女同學11月的interview 也是send email去改早一星期！當然要睇大學是否那一天也是有interview!

Sorry, your kids may have mixed up with the true CO of the Oxford admission. Those Music or Vocal scholarship 'offer' could be given out before but irreverent to the actual Oxford admission offer. It just meant that if the students finally received the admission offer, this will also carry the scholarship. They are independent selection procedure. That does not mean those got the scholarship (music or vocal) offers will necessary receive the Oxbridge admission offer which is only announced in Jan of that year admission cycle. Again, the date of Oxbridge offer announced this year is in early Jan 2018.

But your daughter only submitted her UCAS application a few days ago? She couldn't be applying to Medicine then, because the deadline was 15 Oct. So what she apply now in UCAS?
