Hello all, may I ask if the parent can accompany the child during the interview?

And what's the format the the interview? Thank you very much!

Have you received the interview email from the school?

Yes. Any others received interview invitation?

I have received it. No offence, but the questions you asked are indeed covered on the email :)

only ONE parent is allowed to be accompanied to the interview room.

I read that. But also saw on another post that parent was not actually allowed to accompany the child

probably outdated. I would refer to the official email from the school instead :)

A bit nervous about the interview, and my daughter is very shy to strangers and new environment. I hope my daughter can get an offer but I dont have the confidence

I see! Hope all goes well :)

For me, I do not want to scare my child since she just overcome the separation anxiety after starting pn. If it is not an accompanied interview, i will not let her attend.

Information from the email invitation is the best source to trust I guess?

No need to be nervous.  Assuming the format has not changed from last year - it is like going to a playgroup e.g. story time, playing some toys....  if your child is already attending PN he/she would be fine!

yeah she is attending PN now. But what worries me most is that she is quite protective in front of strangers, ie not answering questions from uncles and aunties. She did communicate fluently with me in both English and Cantonese at home. I have a strong feeling that she would probably keep silence and not responding to questions when she attends the school interview that day.

Thank you! Although the email said one parent can go with her, I was worried that the child needs to enter a separate room for interview. So this did not happen? You were able to stay with your child all the time?

I would like to spare my child from another separation anxiety attack since she had just settled in well in her pn....!! (emoji)

Thanks in advance!

joyct120, stay positve! there is no point worrying about something outside your control.  And for what it is worth - my kid didn't really respond to the teacher's instructions at the interview.  He still got accepted (and is now happily going to school everyday!) So i don't think the interview was meant to be "performance based".

no separation at all.  I was with my kid throughout the whole "interview" (probably 20 minutes or so only?).
