政府要排一年先有得評佔，k1老師都覺得行為同情緒語言發展都有啲問題，媽媽好擔心因為好似女仔有自閉症會嚴重好多，我覺得好自責，遲咗帶個女去睇醫生

First of all, get a referral letter from any doctor (ie private doctor nearby). Not necessary to get the letter from the gov't children clinic. Then call the CAC to queue up, and it will take 1/2 - 1 year to see the doctor.

You can go to any of the NGO (ie Heephong) for immediate assessment, but the CAC won't recognize the assessment. If you want to get immediate Social Welfare free service for ASD/ADHD, you need to have the CAC report than NGO report.

邁步係私人機構，協康係NGO , 我會揀協康

協康做完評估都有得排社署的學前訓練，早些排，不用等cac 一年後才排，都不知排到幾多歲。

我個女都要做評估，佢2歲6個月，我打左去協康問，呢個年紀係可以做個全面評估，$5800，要排大約2個月先有位做評估

因為佢而家返緊k1 ，學校寫信證明佢情況嚴重，學校話佢要讀特殊學校想我退學添

我都排緊CAC, 佢暫時覆最快都要今年12月幫我小朋友做評估, 而家我都爭扎緊去邁步定協康去做評估, 協康覆我最快都要排到3, 4月先有, 邁步就大約1個月可以安排到

There are 2 stages:
1) Take assessment
2) Take training

I think you should book BOTH for the 邁步 and 協康 for assessment.

If the kid needs service after 邁步's assessment, then asks if 邁步 can offer and arrange ASAP. If you are happy with the service, then you can cancel the booking for 協康.

Or, just make bookings for both centres for training right now (no need assessment at this stage), because the queues are really long.

協康's training for kids are very very full, and I am afraid even if you get the assessment from it, the queue for training may take a year or finally, the staff may call you that it can't give your kid any service after some months.

thanks for the information!因為上網睇過下好似D人comment邁步油麻地分校無咁好, 所以我就有少少猶豫. 另外, 請問有無聽過康兒中心(扶康會)? 好嗎?

No worry for bad comments, you can always quit immediately if you are not happy.

You should only worry if you can get the training fast enough or immediately. The queue for service usually take months or years.

請問意思係去完協康做評估唔可以攞住份report排返政府？

Gov't will only take the 3rd party report as a reference. If you want to get free service fm the gov't, you will need to have an assessment by CAC.

But I am not 100% sure about this. Check with the Social Welfare Department.

You should ask the social welfare department (SWD) instead of Heep Hong if you want to get help fm SWD.

And if you want to get help fm Gov't hospital, then you should talk to Gov't hospital directly.

其實係臨床心理學家/兒科醫生/教育心理學家做嘅正式評估都可以refer去社署排隊。我早一排有經歷過同樣嘅決定，協康或者其他NGO booking都好full，都係以月計去排，最後去左邁步。中間都牽涉少許個人因素，想盡早有結果為小朋友安排下一步，但最後經歴係出乎意料地正面的。
