I know some ESF schools require students to take both IB n GCSE/IGCSEs, but some don't.
Can anyone share what's the advantage of taking GCSE/IGCSE?
Will kids have less opportunities to get into good universities if they only take IB?

I am a private tutor who is teaching Economics for IAL GCE A Level & IB. I would like to share my experiences for this subject with you.

The syllabus and degree of difficulty are similar, However, there are 4 papers for GCE in which the students can take one paper per time ( 2 exams per year ). That is, take one paper every 6 months. The no. of pages to be studied and memorised will be around 100 pages per unit paper. The exam burden is small. There are 3 papers for IB Exam plus one internal assessment. The exam for these 3 papers would be taken in one time. This means students should learn and remember everything in one exam.

IGCSE is taken in Year 11 and IB DP is taken in Year 13.

唔考GCSE会先讀IB MYP 再讀IBDP,據知 ESF中學会逐步轉MYP

我以為ESF得RC＆DC係MYP，其他一概lGCSE？

例如shatin college 出年開始year 7-9轉MYP, year 10-11 繼續IGCSE, year 12-13 DP。未有計劃改IGCSE。

Island school 也是gcse 及IB

請問MYP+GCSE實際如何運作，MYP分8個subject groups, 如何配合GCSE選科

其實初中未轉MYP，學校已經用了IB的approach 去教部分科目, 估計只是將14-15科組合成八科，沒有大轉變。
