Important Announcement from ESF Centre on August 29, 2017:

As the Education Bureau is still reviewing the $2000 application fee for Discovery College and Renaissance College, the new ‘one form’ application system will NOT be launched for admissions processing for 2017-18. The Year 1 and Year 7 Central Application will commence on 1 September under the current online application system. Dual applications will continue to be permitted to ESF and the two private independent schools (PIS). Applications to Discovery College and Renaissance College are through separate application processes, detailed on each of the college’s websites.

Haha, I wouldn't be the least surprised if ESF decides to withdraw this new "one form scheme" in the end.

They have done this sort of withdrawal before, a few years back they were going to remove the interview priority given to ESF Kindergarten pupils, and they scrapped that plan in the end.

Does the esf kindergarten will have both an observation at their kindie and an interview at the primary school? heard that SJS will only proceed with the observation at WKS with no interview at SJS

From what I heard during the info session, SJS will still come to visit, but the interview is changed into what they called an "enhanced liaison", and parents won't be informed of the date.

You may find this in the Y1 admission presentation slide.

According to the principal, in addition to the kindie visit, the SJS staff will come to WKS and observe the kids (who have interview offers). This will happen on a normal school day.

I'm not too sure how this works either, but heard from my friend that other schools like Munsang are also using similar approach to assess kindie kids.

Yes, for wks Esf kids , no need to go to SJS for interview. But for other school , e.g. Kjs , kids still need to go there

How about kids from Tsing Yi Esf who enrol SJS? Do they have to go to SJS for interview? Or same as WKS?

I am not sure, you have to ask TY Esf. How many TY Esf kids will apply SJS ? I am interested to know too.

It seems unfair if some esf kindie need to go to SJS interview while some no need

agree, kids do perform better in a familiar environment. And would like to know what happens to the parent interview as well.

interested to learn how u (kid in ty kg) can pick sjs or bhs (or kjs) in the application? i recall no picking of esf primary school throughout the process。

parents do not have a choice to pick, is still esf decides on the catchment zone.

can pick if you have 2 or more properties in different catchment areas (we know some people do), or simply renting an apartment in the zone your target school falls in (we know some people doing that too)

Should be all SJS interview has been waived this year，SJS teachers will go to all ESF kinders whole day to "play" with their candidates .
