Just know from CUHK website that 10 students with perfect score of 45 and 25 students with a score of 44 are admitted to the medical school of CUHK this year. The admission grade of hku medical school may be even higher! It is possible and very likely that students with a score of 43 will be rejected by medical schools this year!
It's becoming more difficult for students who talke IB than those that take DSE to to read competitive programs nowadays!

It is sad to see nearly all students with top scores choose the medical course at the local universities. It was not the case in the old days. The course selections were more diverse than now. I think it is a side effect of the protectionism by the local medical profession with more secured prospects for income. Not a healthy trend for the society with the talents concentracting on a single industry.

It is because the prospects of other fields are not as good as before, so the top students focus on medical schools. Even the intake of law schools are on a downward trend.

IB 43 今年仍入到 HKU medi, CU 之前 conditional offer 43, HKU 在 IB 放榜日俾offer, 同意競爭会越來越大，入神科仍然 DSE 機會較大

經過今年的討論，應該有學生會反思讀醫是否真是最佳出路。
就算係叻，但迫去一大堆尖子的行業真的有着數。

question is, why do universities in HK take students only based on score. Why do a 43 pt student necessarily a lesser student in doing a medical degree compared to a 45 pt student? Why draw a line with score?

這正是我想講的問題。

分數高為何代表合適? 那根本不需面試啦，只看成績就得，不要浪費學生和教職員時間。Why not just drew a line and accept all the students they reach a certain marks or above.

Too bad. Real world here in Hong Kong. Both medical schools have taken students with good grades yet with no heart to be a good doctor. Unfortunately that is still the way they are going to take students. The so called interview is really a joke. But to be honest, it is already a lot better for non-pupas students. For Jupas, it is a "must take" for students that reach a certain points.

係香港，尖子除了選醫科，真係冇其他野可以讀嗎？究竟係他們真係好喜歡醫學研究，定有其他考慮呢？

一間醫務診所公司, 只得八個香港醫生和二十個國內醫生, 扣除豐厚的醫生工資, 一年賺超過四千万元和搞埋上市, 所以外面醫生都好難入哩香港分享這塊肥豬肉. 我想信很多醫科学生都以林順潮為其人生榜樣!

看上年的劍橋入學申請當中, computer science, engineering 和maths 比 medicine 的acceptance rate 更低, 更神科. 証明社會發展得更建康.
