我老闆德國人，佢老婆係香港人，阿仔由細在GSIS German stream 長大。老闆太太comment German stream 很好，但international stream 大多是好谷的香港及大陸家庭，氛圍係放學後外補至九點十點。至於CIS 係點，我冇研究，因為冇諗過入。

我幾個朋友讀緊小學，其實都冇特別補，話學校本身巳教得很好，除了中文有外補，也沒有名次亦不會公布分數，學校本身也有homework club不用出外再上，但學校很多叻人，可能有人覺得不夠安全感所以補不奇（之前報導關詠荷個女狂補）。佢話中學部收了一些local school轉來的卻很喜歡補，英文也比較弱又要補。我稔CIS甚至其他國際學校的local parents的也一樣有人喜歡補。

Do you know how good your friends' kids' Chinese is? Given that GSIS doesn't teach much Chinese at all, what level can one expect their child to attain even with outside tutoring? And how much tutoring would be required?

One said her kid Chinese ma ma 地。but I knew a 20+ years old grats from GSIS with decent Chinese level who could read Chinese newspaper, he said he just learned Chinese from his mother and private tutoring. Did you get offer which grade you get in?

My kid is still young so just asking for reference. GSIS is very good but the lack of Chinese is a concern.

兩間都係好學校，單就中學而論，聽埋聽埋，有一樣可以咁睇。Gsis international stream，英文係first language，跟住要學德文，中文最多第三位。中文keep唔keep到係一個考量，另外要用比較多的時間去學德文，有無需要，因人而異。Cis就係 billigual 另加一種外語的格局，比較近一般香港家長思路。

其實兩間學校都很好，老師都很用心教學，學習風氣一流，資源亦豐富。GSIS一貫德國人的作風，well organised and sophisticated, 很注重sports，science and maths, 英文水平一流，德文在外面很少機會學。CIS 是bilingual, 推行仁義禮智信，yr 12 要去Hangzhou 一年boarding (看你buy 吾buy)，中學會有機會收多些local school 學生因為中文水平的要求。
入到是但一間，如果afford 到我覺得都應該讀，一般人說學校甚麼很谷狂補習全部有錢人，其實都是聽人説，大多不是一手資料，如果學校收得，有冇司機我都會讀，only the sky is the limit。

哈哈，態度明確！
每個家庭情況唔同，小朋友資質、性情有異，最終揀咩學校，其實都無問題，只要個決定係想過度過，唔係人云亦云就得。

The above I copied from other forum. Seems CIS really got very strong affiliation with mainland china.

My girl is also from ESF. How would you choose btw CIS and ESF? For ESF, my girl will be the youngest and for CIS, my girl will be the oldest.

I think reserved list is similar to waiting list? I heard the others got straight reject.

好好！語言環境(emoji)(emoji)，老師有愛心，日日番學好開心。開初都會擔心學術上的進度，因為冇功課，但3個月後大進步，包括自理能力，知識上，discipline, 朋輩關係同思考能力！當然如果相比其他國際學校，校舍吾大；但總括來說，真的一間好有心的學校。最好係 think 家長比較內斂含蓄，好少show off同比較小朋友，所以大家關係好好，就算吾同國藉都好融合。

Hi there - same here! My son is under 2 too and I would like to know how to prepare him for CIS reception interview... heard it is extremely difficult to get in ?

我覺得他們喜歡雙語背景，即流利英語也懂些PTH的，vic, think我也見有人考入。另外ESF, Anfield 考入的都是母親説PTH的。另外也喜歡收中外混血兒（但其中一方是PTH)，相對對英語水平的要求就沒有GSIS那麼高（除非你報稱自己是native English, 他們便會用英語考你而要求也會高D），報考是主要用你報稱的mother tongue考的，我見大多是eng/ mandarin, 有沒有人用cantonese考到就不知了

佢返兩間幼稚園，上午國際、下午蘇浙。全天一個司機加一個工人侍候，喺七人車食午飯、瞓晏覺、換校服。
知道有唔少mixed 小朋友都返兩間幼稚園，國際加普通話。
不知樓主有可體會？

Very true!
To get in CIS where the super rich offsprings of the big names in HK go (many of those kids have bodyguards who follow them at school), what do you expect？

i believe there is exception just like CIS offers financial aid to those who are in need. Is just the majority are super rich and yes have body guard ( or 2 vans of body guards).

都識「平民百姓」(其實佢地都住北角半山）小朋友讀CIS, 有一個近到個女可以行路番CIS, 話有日阿女上完游水堂唔見咗件泳衣，懷疑隔離小朋換衫時唔小心攞咗，阿媽打電話俾同學阿媽好客氣咁問一下有冇。俾對方鏟到上天花板，話'第二次唔好為咗啲咁小事打電話嚟問長問短煩住哂，你咁窮唔見咗泳衣無錢買可以出聲，會即刻叫人買件俾你！'
原來CIS有分兩批人，「富貴一族」vs 「平民百姓」，對方係「富貴一族」，「平民百姓」唔應該主動接觸他們，雖然班上活動關係有各家長聯絡電話。
有另一朋友個女以前跟大劉+呂小姐個女劉小姐同班，劉小姐有司機同工人接送都日日遲到，老師無話過一句。朋友個女遲到一次就俾老師鬧，問阿媽點解咁唔公平，朋友唔識點答。
答番你個問題，CIS「富貴一族」可能不屑上EK，「平民百姓」又唔敢喺EK爆料，所以無當前用家（仲未正式入學唔算）喺呢度講野，只有我呢啲塘邊鶴咁八。

I have a casual chat with a kid now in uni from CIS, he also told me the ultra rich will form a clan of themselves and the ordinary form their own clan. Both groups have little interaction with each other. The ordinary clan is hard working and academic focus, while the ultra rich clan is

Although all men not created equal, should be treated equally, especially by the teachers who supposingly should teach them the right values from the very beginning.
Personally I would NOT put my child in a school where snobs (fellow students and/or their parents) would look down onto others because of their different social status.

I cannot accept this attitude too if it's true, I think the other "top notched" school fare much better in this aspect , maybe the is the difference in "Chinese" and "western" ways to deal with things.
