小女已完成Harry Potter 系列, Roald Dahl系列, Narnia 頭3本( 後面幾本嫌悶) , 老鼠記者, whimpy kids , Wonder 系列

請求各前輩推介之後我應該給她看甚麼呢？因為她偏好看friction books,但心智是高小水平, 不喜戰鬥/傷感的書籍。另, percy Jackson 系列適合嗎？她説想看Lord of the rings, 但我覺得太深

懇請前輩請教

讓她去圖書館自己選吧。

有定期去學校圖書館及公共圖書館。只是借書時已有困難, 在公共兒童圖書館內，大部份的程度不合適, 只有少部份如Narnia, little prince 那些不是已看就是沒興趣，其餘就是傳記。

如去成人圖書館的話, 不知應從那裡入手呢？

都係一套幾本的，㨂啱一套可以睇到一陣，不過唔知圖書館有無。

Percy Jackson 係 fantasy stories, 我仔最鍾意呢類書，妹妹就麻麻，所以要俾佢地睇下 preview 㨂呀。

其實可以如果參考一下每年Battle of the books 書單
我覺得涵蓋的範圍都算廣，有不同作家的作品。
讀過之後可以選擇小朋友喜歡的類型繼續讀

如果小朋友唔嫌悶肯睇lord of the rings點解要阻止？
好老實rick riordan啲小說情節緊湊，小朋友應該唔會嫌悶（我仔睇到汁多撈埋仲要睇好幾次），但層次同lord of the rings始終唔同。

電影可能無書咁吸引，阿仔睇完套書（連fantastic beasts, quidditch thru ages, tales of beedle 同嗰幾頁嘅prequel都睇埋）再睇戲，睇到half blood prince就無睇，話套戲好悶

講開又講，揀書除咗要睇吓text complexity(即係 reading level)外，我覺得interest level同樣重要。有時小朋友可以理解比較複雜嘅詞彙同句子, 但內容就未必適合佢哋睇。

呢度有個list可以參考吓，舉the fellowship of the ring為例，佢嘅ATOS level係6.1，即係6年班應該可以睇得明，但interest level係Upper grade，即係內容合適9-12年班嘅小朋友。harry potter series嘅ATOS level係5.5 - 7.2（同Lotr相約）, 但interest level只係Middle grade，所以內容適合較小嘅小朋友，邊本書啱自己個小朋友係好depends on佢嘅mentality同maturity。

My daughter is really picky in selection of english books . While she reads all chinese books without selection

She is almost 9

9 is a bit too young perhaps. I didn't recommend it to my boy until he is 11 or 12. It's not the level of reading that matters, it's more about the level of maturity as the other parent mentioned the other day.

我理解interest level唔係單指小朋友有無興趣睇，而係講緊本書嘅內容係咪適合(appropriateness)佢睇。父母由平日嘅觀察同溝通，應該大約推斷到小朋友嘅成熟度。雖然同齡，有啲小朋友會比同齡成熟（我仔有同學已經睇晒金庸同陳郁如啲書），有啲可能較為小朋友（我仔仲係好鍾意睇captain underpants之類低低能能嘅書），不能一概定論。

同意，有些故事要有人生經驗才能產生共鳴，最近看了一劇，之後問小朋友若做到皇帝但失去身邊所有的朋友，會想做嗎？答案：想，因為有好多野（物質上）

最近才知學校做了reading level 評估，不知用來評估的工具是甚麼，只知level 60。

近期睇percy jackson , 應該偏好adventures
