小兒S6, 讀Phy, Chem, Bio, M1
他現考慮drop Bio，想集中多些時間去讀CHEM, PHY。
但在取捨中，因怕影響佢將來想收讀的物理治療。
他已請教過老師，但未有明確的意見。
請問可否給予一些意見。

物理冶療多數是想医科的保險科，競爭對手太強，另考試成績有意外，朋友孩子遲咗去試塲，佢原本有信心數有5*,出來得4。。。

根据理大嘅網頁，要求biology or physics,  但冇要求chem, 会否香港跟外国科目要求有不同呢？

是否已指明要有Biology才可報﹖(因小兒不是讀Combined Science)

Entrance Requirements
Satisfy the University's General Entrance Requirements.

There is no compulsory subject requirement. Preferred elective subjects for the programme include:
Biology;
Physics; and
Combined Science with Biology or Physics.

Other Information
Preference will be given to applicants who are able to communicate effectively in Chinese and English.
Applicants should be fit within normal range in fulfilling the physical requirements of physiotherapy practice.

It seems there is NO COMPULSORY elective. They only say they prefer Biology.

要留意加權分, 條公式吾知仲係吾係咁 (中, 英, phy, bio x10, chem maths, ls x7, others x5).

我孩子不是讀物治，佢讀放射，這幾個醫療相關科目會為 preferred 科目加權 x10，沒有加權會 x5，當然每年多少有修訂，加權後的取分缐才見真章。

物理治療和職業治療同時睇重 interview 因為這兩科和服務對象的互動非常重要。

物治沒有用藥一說，可能因為如此化學才不是 preferred 科目。

Although Biology is not a compulsory subject, but it would be a great advantage to take it if your target is PT.  Basically, PolyU selects candidates according to their admission scores.   The subjects required for calculation of the admission score for each course is different.  You may refer to PolyU websites for details.  Generally speaking,  preferred subjects of the course will time 10, core subjects (non-preferred subjects) times 7 and other electives times 5 only.  

For example, if you get a "5" in Biology (preferred subject of PT), there will be a contribution of "50" to the admission score. However, if you get a "5" in Chemistry (non-preferred subject of PT), there will be a contribution of "25" only to the admission score.

Therefore, usually the candidates taken the preferred subjects with fair grade will be selected because they are easier to have higher admission score than others.

收生準則可能每年不同, 我稔無人答得實你

自己上POLYU 網站睇返收生要求, BIO 係咪會乘大

你仔仔F.6 應該要自己識得搵資料睇, 唔好下下信晒老師,

日校老師都未必熟晒大學收生要求!!

If so, Biology gets 4 = 4 x 10 = 40, but Chemistry 5** = 7 x 5 = 35 only!


Chemistry 對 physiotherapy 都好有關, 而且不會比biology易讀, 咁條formula 都幾荒謬!

pt & ot 2017年起改4+2收生代替best 5.
識人今年冇讀phy pt也收佐, 加權23x分, 估計interview高分.

我女加權後242都唔收呀女又話check卷後加分，只要高過pt最低收生嗰個分就要收嘅，呃人嘅

應面試加佐分先收到23X分. 聽講今年PT男女比例7:3, 可能同多男仔少女仔修PHY有關, 讀PHY加權X10,著數好多.

Year 12 or equivalent English and one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics (Physics recommended). View the equivalent qualifications for international students.

Required subjects
