My son is now studying at Victoria HG. May I know is it compulsory to buy debenture if applying VSA primary? The reason I asked is I heard some hearsay from parents that it is not a must to buy debenture for kindergarten students.

Hi I m k2 parents n just received vsa offer. We didn't buy n the individual one hasn't been issued for the past 2 years. U can only buy from the second handed market. The principle said they don't have plans to issue individual one further as the funding needs for extra facilities seem to be met. Among those of us who have received offers, none bought actually.

Siblings n decenture holders interview in March n results notified in April, then normal students. They didn't say the quota split among these 3 girls. But siblings usually are accepted. For us, we had first round group in n second round (parent n kid together 1x1). Kids with good languages n willing to talk are ok. No need to be very active or outgoing.

We speak Cantonese at home n my girl does trill lingual class. She has extra weekly eng lesson outside. For second in, we chose Chinese n so we as well as my girl was asked in Cantonese. I think better to stick to a language that you n the kid are very good at instead of average in three languages.

For those who have offers, don't think pure eng speaking has strong edge.

Whether you are sibling offer, debenture offer or our case, given only one week to consider n have to pay 5 months of deposits to confirm.

Hi, may I know the deposit can be refund in case I dun study finally ? Heard from other parents , half or % of the deposit can get back . But it was few years ago.

Withdraw before August 31, 70 percent refund; before dec 1, half. None thereafter.

May I ask if the kids from the step up program has higher chance to get into vsa? My girl is in K1 now but I don't prefer to send her to step up program later.

We r from Kln campus n the step up program is new to us. My kid is only doing half day even in k3. Among the kids that I know n have offer, all Will do half day k3 after summer. I think step up may help a bit but if u don't like, no need to force urself. After all, u don't know their selection criteria n whether vsa talks to own kg on this small stuff.
