If my kid studies in an ESF kinder and unfortunately cannot get interview for the ESF primary in the catchment area, even after 2nd or 3rd rounds, assume there are say 20 kids like this. Will we be put on top of the waiting list for year 2, and if not enough vacancies then year 3 etc?

My kid was successful at interview and was put on waiting list. We were told that there are 15 ahead of us. After the first round payment, we moved to the fifth and continue to wait.

Theoretically, u wiil be asked whether you would like to stay in the queue every year. Even though u are at top of the list, someone with higher priority can get an vacant place first. Also, someone at the back of queue can become the top if his or her priority has changed.

Catlau, may I ask which school your kid is being put on waitlist. BHS? KJS?

I know that was true in the past. But in my kid's year, there will be 176 new students from tung Chung ESF . The SJS, KJS and BHS certainlty cannot take in all kinder students. That was why I ask this question.

Anyone know if p1 get in kjs or bhs, but just in case that while p3 they need move to Hong Kong side, just want to know how is ESF system? Easy to switch or need to apply again for waiting queue?
