Hello, does anyone know their admission process for the reception year well?
We haven't quite decided if we want our son to go there but the school told us we could apply in January now. My son is only even 2 at the moment so I suppose we still have some time even though we have been told it could be hard to get a spot son we do need to apply early.....but how early is early?

I applied it on Jan and my kid is 3 yrs and had interview around May same year and got a offer after the interview. So you better ask the school.

Reception starts at the age of 5 right, so they do interview the kids couple years earlier?

I think it's too late now, should apply on 1 Jan. They dun even have enough seats for siblings.

I didn't think it is first in first served? don't they have an interview process too?
anyway we are Aussie citizens and I like the Aussie culture and facilities they could offer. My son has been accepted by Anfield Nursery though and he is starting later this year, do you think I should still try ESF and the AIS? Im tempted by the lower fees at ESF but I like the fact that AIS has a gym and a heated pool. Anfield has a primary school too, the campus looks okay but probably less facilities compared to the AIS. Not sure about ESF schools though, any thoughts?

Yes one should apply on Jan 1 two years prior to the year of entry. A while back my friend and i both applied in Jan of the same year for our kids. I handed in my application on Jan 1 and hers in mid/late Jan. We had first round interview offer, but she had to wait for second round (which was 3 months later), and by then most of the seats were already filled up. We both ended up not going for AISHK, but for those really keen on having a spot, apply on time.
