Anyone recevie email for interview invitation or rejected? I overheard SJS & RC already recevied those mail. Thx.

No one will get a "reject" email at this stage, your child either get an interview invitation or get put on the waiting list. Later in the year they will process the waiting list and interview more applicants until all places are filled. If at the end of the year your child is still not invited, they'll ask if you wish to stay on the waiting list and be considered for next year.

oops... i mean reject interview, according to their web site all applicitants will recevie a mail att he end of nov which seperate in 3 grouos, 1) interview invitiation with placement offer if pass the interview 2) interview invitation but put on waitl ist even pass it 3) no interview offer, overheard sjs already recevie a rejected interview email so i asked... thx.

If your child doesn't get invited to an interview that means waiting list, it is not a rejection as such. You will only get a "reject" email if your child attends and fails the interview, that would be the end of the story.

Anyway I know parents got from SJS, may I know anyone receive the following mail from BHS? Thx.

From ESF website:
Parents receive interview status notification letters.
•Invitation to interview with guaranteed place if successful; or
•Invitation to interview with reserve wait list place if successful; or
•Confirmation of wait listing for possible future interview opportunity.

Got the letter today, we're in group 2, invitation to interview with reserve wait list place if sucessful. May i know anyone same case at last year and got offer finally before the acedamic year start? I want to know how big is the chance to get the offer. Thx much for help.

No. From other int'l kinder. I think the kids should be group 1 if they are from ESF kinder.

Don't worry, it's all by lucky draw and depends on the zone of school. I still have hope to get a place from DC or RC. Good luck

Oh no... That's pretty scary. The whole primary admission process is driving me crazy. I sometimes regrets to put my girl at esf since it seems like we don't have many choices left if esf doesn't accept us. Do you know if the chance of getting a place at the end is still high if we are in group 2?

Don't be unduly worried, getting an interview (whether for guaranteed place or reserve list) is already halfway to success. Every applicant is allocated a random number and some though not many ESF kindergarten children don't even get an interview in this first round simply because they have drawn a bad number. The point to remember is over 90% of ESF kindergarten children do go on to ESF primary schools (including RC and DC), and those who don't are often because they have other choices.

You should ask the ESF kindergarten principal. I believe for the past few years ALL children in group 2 (i.e. being interviewed for a place on the reserve list rather than a guaranteed place) received offers later in the year. In fact many ESF kindergarten children who didn't even get an interview in the first round got interviewed later on and eventually got an offer.

Last year for my girl's prumary school, the admission officer told us that there were 13 est kindergarten students were in group 2. if 13 kids in group 1 declines, then these kindergarten students will get an offer, of course subject to their interview performance.

You can ask the admission officer the situation this year. i would not worry too much about it.

For my catchment, there are many kids apply for esf but end up going to DC.

Even the Admission Manager cannot tell u the answer right now. Except the siblings, a few parents may give up the offer if they have a better offer from other schools later on. A few years ago, many Cat. 2 ESF kindy applicants were placed in group 2 in BHS and a few got the offer just before the school started and even a few days after the school started.
Now, under the new admission procedure (No more cat. 1/cat. 2), the turnout rate may be even lower than the past (More ESF kindergarten applicants are being placed in Group One and their target is ESF primary since day one they applied the kindergarten).

純個人分析，冇數據支持。
以前行舊制分Cat.1/Cat. 2兩條隊, 主要扣除Cat. 1 applicants, 以及Cat. 2 siblings後，學位已冇左一大截，先排到ESF Cat. 2 applicants分，再到街外人(以BHS得90個位，機會=0)。假設Cat. 1 applicants 中有部份係expats, 因工作關係中途離港而放棄學位, waitlist補上機會較大。
今天不分category, expats如冇其他priorities (NR or siblings),priority 比ESF kindy applicants更低, 可推斷1st round 收生中扣除NR同staff(估計有限), 再扣siblings，然後再到ESF kindy applicants (相信已填滿有突)，而以上申請人會放棄學位機會比較低(一部份同時申請幾間，如RC,DC或其他心儀IS,有可能放番個位出黎)。

oooray, remember that your daughters are studying at BHS? Are they still studying there? May I know how long you've been put on the reserved list? If the interview success, how big chance and how long should wait for placement? Much appreciate that if anyone can share the past successful case, we did not applied many schools for back up, got to plan if finally BHS cannot offer placement for year 1 before 2016 Aug. Thx.
